Hi, I'm Andrea. I have a trouble with a Canon Bjc-3000 (think I have wrong with it). It started with "ink tank error". I cleaned it and did the procedure to reset the ink counter like write in this site.... Printer stopped to flash the orange led, but now it doesn't print. My OS (ubuntu) sees it as Bj F300 and say me it did not connect. Also, if I open the front cover, led start to flash (green) endlessly, if I close cover too. I break internal printer software? I have to buy a new printer? I don't want to send it to canon assistence, I prefer change it with the same money! Thank you the help (and excuse me for question and my english...)

The problem you are having is with the print head and not the printer. Unfortunately, with these canon print heads, they are not dated, so it is possible to install a print head that was bought new and sealed, but is still dried out because it is old.
Try running the print head through one deep cleaning cycle, this sometimes will start to get an old print head flowing.
Deep cleaning cycle can be found by going to PRINTERS , right clicking on the BJC icon, selecting PROPERTIES from the drop down menu, and then selecting the MAINTAINENCE tab.
Check to make sure that the ink tank in the print head isn't dry. Even a new print head can have a dry tank if it's old.
Four orange flashes means the cartridge is out of ink. The ink cartridge itself is the BC-33, and it contains four ink tanks, BCI-3B, BCI-3C, BCI-3M, and BCI-3Y. If the printer had been working properly up until this point, check each of the ink tanks (they unlatch and come out of the cartridge) and replace just the empty one(s). If all the tanks have ink in them, it indicates the cartridge itself is bad, and you will have to replace the entire cartridge.
4 times says the ink is empty or not installed.
It has a sensor that checks the ink tanks, if ink is full you may have a bad sensor, or a paper scrap covering.
You said that the light blinks 7 times. It means that the BJ cartridge (printhead) is defective
Remove the BJ cartridge and check that the contacts on the cartridge and cartridge holder are clean. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed and reinstall the cartridge. If the error occurs again after you resume operation, you may need to replace the BJ cartridge.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
u may buy a wrong type of catridge for ur printer,the model may be slightly differ from ur printers required model so u check the catridge model which is absolute for ur printer.
Try the following
start->settings->printers
right click on cannon bjc 3000 and check for a tick mark on "use printer offiline". if the tick mark is there then click on the "use printer offiline", then try a test page.
hope this helps
I have a new one!
