I was having a problem going to my camera The sprint store could not fix the problem I left my phone there for about 1hour and then they said they are ordering me a new phone for free they said it was a error with the phone .when I hit the camera button it just kept comming up close other applications and try opening the camera again but nothing was working I even removed the battery for about 5 minutes . I recently had the sprint store download a 4.5 program so I could do picture mail as mms I dont know if that caused it but It has been screwing up since then.

same here. only difference i dropped my phone on water, therefore losing my warranty. so i kinda gotta fix that on my own.

I have had my Blackberry Curve for less than a month. The camera worked intially, but then started coming up as a black screen and would not take pics. Now my phone continually has a small window, dead center which shows whatever program was on it, the menu, phone list, whatever and this blocks my ability to read email or see anything hidden behind this window. I have turned it off and then left it off. Nothing has helped, what can I do to restore it to normal or does it need to be returned?

When I click on the camera icon if brings up the camera controls but then an error message pops up saying

Could not start the camera. Close other Applications and try opening the camera again.

    Any suggestions?

Very gently take the back off of the Blackberry, slightly push in on the camera itself, reboot and the camera should work.

I found out the hard way selling my phone on eBay only to have it returned because the camera didn't work. It's a hardware issue and not a software issue.

If it's still under warranty, try and get a new phone, otherwise --problem solved.

Any other program using the camera? (such as custom filters.. etc) if you have anything that is using the camera application then it won't actually close until you close the hosting program; easiest way is to take out the battery WHILE THE PHONE IS ON (important part, that's why I yelled it :) ) and leaving it out for about 10-20 seconds, reinsert and try again

Another appiliocatin runnig close it and then start the camera

Try to replace any application that double. It maybe will say operator failed. Don't worry just after u did that. Do the next step.
2. Turn the phone off then turn it on again.
3. Open file manager go to application and try to delete any doubled application. It will maybe show you nothing after deleted. But don't worry. Get out from application folder then open it again. You will find unknown application with the same name of the deleted application that you did before. Just delete it then its gone.
4. Repeat that with every double application or games. If it say failed. Then restart your phone then try and it will be deleted.

Everytime I open my camera it always say that it cannot open and try closing other application first and try opening again the camera but I'm pretty sure I've already close all of my applications. What...

You will have to get the phone warrantied through your provider. You have a bad camera in the phone. I have replaced alot of these camera which causes the application to close.

Whenever i open up my camera it says "could not start the camera. close other applications and try opening again."

Hi, when a camera says could not open the camera close other application and try again ,means that either to much application where opened at a tie or the camera is corrupted.

First, scan through phone and see if unnecessary applications where open,If not, that means the camera is faulty and will eeed to be replayed.

This message displays any time i try to access the camera. "could not start the camera. close other applications and try opening the camera again". please help.

Hi,

This is what you should do, press and hold the menu key.. you'll get a display in a rectangular form with all programs that are currently running on your blackberry.

You can scroll through the open applications and for you to close all running applications, you'll have to click on your trick ball to get you to that open application and then you close it.

Go over the process of holding the menu key for about 10 seconds again until the rectangular window opens with applications that are currently open.

Click on another program and close it.... do this for all the applications until your have about 4 applications running. Once it's reduced to this you would be able run your camera.

Regards

Blackberry 8130 Curve Camera Troubleshooting

I had this problem and I've tried everything posted and nothing worked so I just started messing around with my phone and may have figured it out. Here's what I did.
NOTE: I AM NOT RESPOSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS AND YOU ARE SOLEY DOING THIS ON YOUR OWN AT YOUR OWN RESPOSIBLITY. Good Luck

1. Click the Menu Button
2. Scroll to Options Icon (the wrench) and click it
3. Click Advanced Options
4. Click Applications and wait for the Apps to load.
5. Scroll down and delete the apps that you dont need (see what I deleted)
6. I first deleted ICQ Messanger by scrolling over it and selecting the menu button then clicked delete, then clicked Yes and let it reboot
7. After it rebooted I clicked the Camera button on the side and it worked after I rebooted
8. Then I went back in and deleted Yahoo Messanger and let it reboot again. (This is up to you)
9. Last I deleted Windows Live Messenger and let reboot once again. (This is up to you)
I deleted these because I didnt use them anways. These were the only 3 apps that I deleted since I never used them. If you want, you could even delete Brick Breaker if you dont play it but I wouldnt delete any other Apps other than these.
