Channel 3 plays but will not record
Firs clean heads, Then cgeck for dBx jumper cable in the rear- these all have to be in for the unit to work. Then if that does not work put unit on back- remove bottom cover and the retaining bar and the reseat the third card down- make sure to line up the connectors and not to bend any pins. If this does not work then the unit needs to be sent or taken to a Teac repair person- I am in Chicago and another is in New Jersey. Other shops may charge you a lot of money but they may not fix it- that is what my customers tell me that has happened to them.

No, that would require slowing the capstan or making its diameter smaller for the rpms it turns now. Sorry.

In short, no. if you look closely you will see the Teac 3340 has a much larger/thicker capstan shaft than other Teac reel decks. This feature allows the faster tape speeds...7 1/2 and 15 ips. In order to slow down the Teac 3340 you would have to change the flywheel to one from another deck that was made to run at 3 3/4 and 7 1/2. Which is possible but some work..plus you would have to find a slower speed flywheel from another Teac deck. Also to maintain performance, the bias and Eq positions for the slower speeds would have to be readjusted from 7 1/2 and 15.

Just measure the diameter in MM and put the result into google with the words 'cassette drive belt'. Belts are not maker specfic.
