The turner that grinds the food will not lock in place. It is turning both ways freely. How can we fix it?

I'd take it back. The blade should turn, and the blade is screwed into place. Check that first.

How do you use the crescent tool?

A crescent wrench is just an an adjustable wrench you turn the thumb wheel to either open or close the jaw to fit the nut or bolt you are working with. when using, the stationary jaw should always be up, or the adjustable jaw always down or the stationaryopposit the direction you want to turn. Real handy, but sometimes too bulky in tight places.

Having trouble getting lid to lock into place

I just got one of these from my dad and last night I proceded o clean it.I took all three of the loose parts off and they are now soaking.
But the middle base part took a little figuring out.
This morning I finally got it.
The center part that you are referring to locks down tight I am assuming so there are no leaks.
What I found to do was that when putting the base back in I had to posistion the spout to the left as far over as I could get it and push down hard. Once it was flesh with the unit while still pushing it, I then turned it to lock it in place.
Hope this helps.

Safety Locking Arm

Depends on where you live they have Breville repair centers. I have problems with my juicer (not running) for Northern Virginia the closest place is NY. Check for a list of repair centers after warranty (not many) In California plenty of centers. Hope this helps.

Replace Body/Hub Combo

After reading your initial post and responding...yes, take a 1/4" socket wrench and loosen the four bolts at the other end of the motor. The hub will come off easily. If you have ot replace the oil seal, I have not figured out how to do that yet. I beleive the replacement hub has a new oil seal already installed. hope this helps
