Re: Where is the battery on the motherboard? CTX EZBook...
Regal, the battery is locate on FLOPPY/HDD-side at the rear (LCD) side of motherboard ...as matter of fact battery can be visibly seen however not remove/fiddled with from inside the HDD tray opening. I place a thin plastic shim between battery & battery retainer in order to break battery's contact ...motherboard side was impossible

If at boot??? ...it could be memory or lack thereof ...could be OS improperly installed. In fact it could be a plethora of software hardware problems

you might be having a no POST problem
-remove all other device that are connected to this computer
-remove battery and power cable
-after a minute try to power on w/o battery just the power curd - see it it will work
-if still not working turn off notebook try to use an external monitor or LCD plug that to the vga port at the side power on see what will happen
-if you are still having the same problem you might need to bring computer to a local tech and have the Motherboard looked at, it might need repair or replacement.
Remove the little watch type battery from the mother board check the voltage with a meter should be about 3.5 volts. Then replace the battery on the mother board. This battery holds memory within the Bio chips on the mother board, if there was a problem that it sensed for turn on it will be in the Bio's memory, and maybe not allowing the computer to turn on, by removing the battery for a few minutes, the Bio's forget they had a problem, if you will. and the computer might turn on.
If you have all the voltages to the mother board from the power supply, it should turn on.
unless there is some reset circuit interfearing with it turning on. Or you might have a blown fuse on the mother board, I would check everything I could, and try everything I could, and if you still cannot get it to turn on take it to a computer shop and spend a few bucks for them to fix it.
