Actually there are some universal remotes for the flat screen TV. I purchased a small philips remote at Kmart. I was hoping to find one for a flatscreen Polaroid I just repaired. And I was surprised to find this remote and it will function like the original. Try any of the super discount stores in the electronic section. Hope you find one. Thanks for asking! Show a few hands of support please.
sounds like you may have a bad ic it probley is a surface mount on the bottom of the board it could couse this problem would need to take to a shop to repair. The ic probley is numbered ic101 on board.
I have had a similar problem with my tv, it has something to do with the power supply.Try unplugging your tv from the AC outlet. While unplugged from the power supply hold down the - volume control and then plug the tv back in while holding down the - volume control. It should bring up the service screen. If the screen turns on and is blank then it may need to be brought in for repairs.
If the screen does turn on, either blank or with the service menu, turn off the tv and unplug it from the power supply again. With it still unplugged hold down the power button on the tv and then replug in the tv. continue to hold down the power button until the tv displays a video signal on screen.
Sanyo makes a fine TV. You have a problem in the vertical circuit causing the line. You should not play the set in that condition because you can dammage the picture tube. Call a few local shops to get an idea of what they charge to fix a vertical problem on a 20" TV. If the cost of repair exceeds about 65% of replacement, toss it. In my opinion the newer sets are lacking in quality compared to older ones. In short , they break more often. If you choose to buy a new TV stay with a known Japanese brand.
call a tech your tv needs to be repaired tv is having a problem in the video circuit ther is a cip that controls that circiut checks should also be made in the related circuit.video IF circuit.good luck
