You may be facing DVD region code issue. I think you have USA code1 Player and trying to playback DVD disc of region code2 (Europe)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Can't play divx or avi

Thats because Divx or AVI is not a recognized format for a DVD Player. If you are burning a disc you need a software that can create a DVD Format Disc from an AVI as all DivX are AVIs. I reccomend Ulead DVD Workshop 2:

Dear Shah ji,
I think Sony Service Center in UK can upgrade your DAV-DZ260 to play DivX files.
I live in Pakistan and can upgrade firmware if required.

Choppy result from playing DIVX via USB Direct connection.

Try a DivX movie from a disc, memory sticks are not very fast, they are just convenient.
