I use Mepis, not Fedora, but i believe Fedora uses KDE, right? Have you used apt-get or synaptic to install alsa-base and maybe alsa-utils? Have you checked the fedora forums?

Whenever i play any game after sometime the display driver ialmrnt5.dll version 6.13.0010.3510(english) interrupts, make screen ambiguous and advice to restart the system.

Your card might not be supported by the game you're playing and / or your driver is corrupt or outdated.

I'm not 100% which card you're using but I'm guessing it's an Intel card, if it is, try using Intel's Auto detect tool to find an updated driver.

Here's a link to their site.

Let me know if that works and if not, what game you're playing and the video card model info as well.

Can we install fedora 11 on Intel d102gcc2 mother board ; I tried couple of time earlier to install various fedora versions , but all went in vain, I think the problem is with sata drivers , please advice!

If you've used live CD Boots, you could try and add nomodeset to the kernel line in the grub boot menu. This would disable kernel mode setting, which causes problems on some graphics cards.

In the BOOT Menu, Press TAB while highlighting "BOOT" Option

Just add "nomodeset" to the end of the text..This disables Kernel Mode Setting and F11 will be up and running....

Sound problem

hi kumar,
i see that you are having a difficult time in solving your problem. the reason why you are experiencing that problem is your driver. Have you installed your sound card driver. If not you better installed it. if yes then the video file that you are watching is not playable in your computer because it is not compatible. try a short video..

DVD/CD RW

Hi there
Is this problem with windows media player only or with rest players also.
You try to repair your media player using your XP installation CD and then install a good codec pack such as XP codec pack or K-Lite codec pack. These are available for free .
Hope this works for you.

Waiting for your thanks.

Sound does not play

Did you install the drivers for the main board or sound card?

If not try installing them. If you do not have the drivers you can log on to the manufactures web page , the people that made your sound card or main board. for example if you are using an intel main board go to www.intel.com click on support and download, then simply search you model in the search box for e.g if you have an intel bsd810bc search bsd810bc it will display a list of download's for your main board..

If that isnt your problem or you have difficulties please resond here with the Type of mainboard you have and the model and we'll bhe of more assistance.

cheers
