According to Husquvarna the 450 and the 450e use the same bar.it's just a differant tensing system used. bar number from husquvarna is 508 92 60-80 that's for a 20" bar

Own a 450 husky saw tool less and cut 4or5 blocks of wood chain completely loose im tighting goof buy loosens.

Hi Dale:
Here's the process that I use. Have a look and see if it works for you.
1) Slacken the nuts that clamp the bar to the saw.
2) Lift the tip of the bar and hold it up through the next 2 steps.. This will put the most slack to the chain.
3) Use the adjuster screw to tighten the chain until it will barely clear the groove when you lift it at the centre of the bar.
4) Still holding the tip up, tighten the nuts that you loosened at step 1.
Should work fine now.
Here's a tip. It never hurts to occasionally clean the bar and chain assembly. Dismantle it, keep the parts organized unless you know where they fit. Use solvent to loosen all the grunge. I like to use air to blast it all off.
The ONLY way a chain can loosen if the bar is solidly mounted is if the chain stretches or "wears". Make sure the chain oils system is functioning, and that the chain is properly sharpened so that it does not over-heat.
My old husky 266 just keeps running!
Cheerfuls!

I want to buy a 16" 3/8 Husky bar that fits the 55 Rancher to replace my 20" bar on my Poulan Pro 5020av...where can I get it?

as long as your 5020av has a 3/8 sprocket it will work they make a professional landowner and homeowner for these saws each costing different prices tell the dearler what your doing and he can decide what you need

Where can I find parts for a Husqvarna HUSKY 38 chain saw

The Husky 38 was a badge engineered machine, it was manufactured by Solo, it goes back to the early 1980s, there are no parts available from Husqvarna, so try the web as suggested

I threw a chain today on my husky 61 w/20" bar. I

hi moe.... sometimes when the chain comes off it damages the bar or the chain and causes what you are now experiencing. Check the groove in the bar to make sure it does not have a burr or a spot where the chain is too tight. also check the chain to be sure that there is not a bent part. When you put the chain into the bar, it should spin freely, unless the chain tension is too tight.
Once you check the bar and the chain and repair any damage be sure to generously lubricate the bar and the chain. Then be sure that the chain tension is adjusted so that it is not too loose or too tight. When you raise up on the chain in the middle of the bar it should barely clear the bar.

What is the longest bar i can go on my 455 rancher saw ?

Available power and the amount of oil may both be a limiting factors. Your oiler has a 3 position adjustment (as do most intermediate level Huskies) with 20" being the longest recommended. My 359 is virtually the same and I run a 24" Carlton bar on mine with no problem. If you opt for a longer bar let the saw determine cutting speed. Come on over, my bar and chain will fit your saw, try it before you buy it. If you have an acquaintance with a 24" small mount Husky bar that is probably a good idea. I would likely not recommend a 24" bar if regularly cutting Oak or a hard wood, I do a lot of Fir.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

Husqvarna 372 xp gas tank not venting has a new gas cap did not work

I looked at a 2007 IPL, your saw has a separate fuel tank vent. Husky is terrible about providing a nomenclature and you may need help from your local Husky dealer to identify components.
Find your "Illustrated parts lists" here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – for use with IPL
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

Can you put a 20in bar on a 340 husky. it has 16in bar now and wanted to upgrade.

yes but will have to change chain and will bog down. you will have to take less cuts and run it at higher rpm to do the same job.

I am having problems with my husky 142 with the .043 gauge bar

have been running saws for over 20 years and have found you can run pretty much any pitch chain on any saw (as long as the lengths matre up)

think about what you are going to be mostly cutting tho. if its softish wood get a chisel type chain.
have fun
