What does Communication Error mean?

I am guessing that you are using Windows 7. If so go to Control panel 'Hardware and Sound' Printers and select Remove a Printer. You may then unplug the printer usb connection and restart your computer. When the computer has restarted , you may go to the link below to download the most current drivers and install them .
Do not plug in the usb connection until you are told to do so. Also, the printer may select a default connection to LPT1 , which is a parallel port connection (apparently this printer likes to do so , and this will give you your "communication error" ). If it does, go to printers in control panel (see above) , right click on the icon for your printer , select "properties" , and left click on the " ports " tab. Make sure that the port selected is USB001 or similar and NOT LPT1.

Connection breaks when installing printer driver, installation is incomplete with All in-one HP Officejet 6210 series printer

Possible fault in the driver sofware . Also do not connect the PRINTER when the program is loaded.
Remove the printer and also any drivers and then shut down the PC, restart and install the CD, if the program halts there is problems in the software or the PC has some corrupt files or virus.
You need to scan to confirrm or use a downloaded driver from site.

Hello We have a HPLj3005n printer and it keeps asking wich tray t oselect when I try to print, the paer is in tray2 and tray2 is selected in all the settings. After I push the confim button a few times...

The manufacturer recommends you install the universal driver from HP website. The wrong driver can cause the messing up of the paper tray selection. We had the right driver for our printer installed and the support guy told us to put the universal driver on.

So, here's a link to the universal driver PCL6 and PostScript. If you have 64 bit computers on your network then you will have to put the 64 bit universal drivers too (PCL6 and PostScript).

if you have user manual read it
do you have driver cd?
In most cases you will find that the Windows drivers found here are "self-extracting" (.exe) archives. Click the desired file. When prompted, we recommend setting the destination to your desktop. Create a new folder and move the archive into it. Click the file, it will then extract the software and related files inside of your new folder automatically. Alternately you may extract or move these files to a floppy disk. Please note that these files will only self-extract if executed from Windows. After extracting the files to a disk or a special directory, you should look for the installation program which is usually called "setup.exe" or "install.exe", click it to begin installation. If neither of these files are present, you should look for a text file containing special instructions called "Readme.txt" or something similar.
Sometimes there is no installation program because you must install your driver via the Windows "Add Printer" function. Instructions for installing printers can be found in the Windows help file.
Our Macintosh Archives are also self-extracting archives. These files should be downloaded and then executed. The installer will be present on the desktop when done. Click the installer and follow the instructions to install.
Types of Printer Drivers:
  • PCL5e Driver - Technically, the PCL5e has been superceded by PCL6, however, we make this driver available because the layout of some documents may be altered if they are originally created for a PCL5 compliant printer, but are printed using PCL6. PCL6 Driver - PCL6 is a good general purpose text / graphics driver. Ideal for Spreadsheets, Word Processing and Database printouts. It features superior graphics handling, although graphically better than the PCL5e driver it's speed is typically slower.
  • PS3 Driver - The Adobe Postscript Driver is generally superior to all, but it requires a Postscript compatable printer and can be a little more complex to install.
  • IPDL-C Driver - This is a color printer driver designed specifically for optimal perfomance under Windows.

your best bet is to goto driverguide.com and find the drivers you need or goto toshiba support and find the drivers for windows 2003 and install them... don't try to share drivers especially from a desktop to a server... bad idea... best from the opposite direction...

Toshiba Estudio166 networking issue

Toshiba es166 is local USB printer. You can print from designated PC and you have to share printer if you want to print from other printer in your network. Because of low machine memory (16Mb) it could be some conflicts,if you use more than 2 PC in network. That is why Toshiba has es167 model on which you can add network print controller. You can also use USB hub if you want to print from more PC's. (only 2 brands of USB hubs provide this, see toshiba site)

Printer time out error!!????

is your printer connected with a serial cable, if so, you may have to install the printer and software again, but if you are connected via usb and this is the given error then there is a connection fault as, you may already know that LPT1 is not a usb connection but serial cable.
