It's only a couple dollars at Radio Shack. Put it between the heat sink and whatever components are mounted there. It will only solve your problem, if overheating was the issue.

HOW MUCH THERMAL PASTE SHOULD I PUT ON MY CHIP OF MY ASUS ENGTX 275

You do need much. Just cover the heat sink with a thin layer of thermal paste, the excess paste will squeeze out when you clip the heat sink over the CPU so do not put too much paste on.

It is not worth repairing at such a cost as it is bettter that you can buy a newer model with an extra bit more. Also sometimes it is possible to get the spares freely from a repair store from a camera which was scrapped for a optical failure.
So until you get one for a cheaper cost the best option is to buy a newer model with better features. Some companies are taking old models for an exchange and this must also be checked .

Hi there, about two/three weeks ago I was on my laptop and noticed that it required a reboot. I rebooted the laptop and it came back to a black screen with blinking LED codes. I looked it up and the code...

Well the computer seem to have been working before the reboot, before buying anything try to clean out all the dust particles from the heat sinker of the CPU, take off the CPU and take off all the old thermal paste with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol. Apply new thermal paste *Very Important* if you run the computer without thermal paste you could burn out your CPU and or cause motherboard damage. Put computer back together, reset the BIOS, and restart. Hope this helps, Best of luck.

Power supply to xbox 360

2 red lights on part 1 and 3 indicate the the console is overheating, the most common problem is the thermal paste.

You need thermal paste or it will overheat instantly, using cheap thermal paste or not using enough thermal paste will also cause problems. Use good quality paste and apply enough to make contact. You don't want to use too much, but if you use too little it won't make good contact with the heatsinks.

If you've done this before then it shouldn't take too long, but if you haven't then just take your time. You don't want to put too much on at first so do it bit by bit.

If you're still getting this error after correcting with thermal paste then the only suggestion would be to contact Microsoft but then they might not take the 360 after you have already void any warranty by opening up the console.

I have a emachine t2542 and i need to remove the heatsink and fan to clean the fan. the fan is really bunched up and clogged up with dirt and that is why i think my machine will run for about 2 hours and...

Hi, you have two silver arms, on one side theres like a handle or grip you need tilt it and press down so the clip pops out, do it for both.
once you get the fan off you can clean it but rememer to put on new thermal grease onto the bottom of the fan as it will damage the cpu if you dont when you put it back on, thermal paste will cost about 2-3 pounds or you can buy a new fan for about 12.

dont attempt this without a new fan or thermal paste.

All the best
