HDD Error! Hi Bubbabear64, my Everio GZ-MG130U displays the following message "HDD Error!" at thetime I want to start recording. formatting or access the disk, Ichanged the disk and there's still the same error, what can I do? JVC Everio MG130U When try to record or playback, it gives the HDD Error message. The camera should have several files on it, but they do not show up because cannot access the drive. It shows there are no files on the camera. Also gives the temperature too low message when first turn on. The camera also will not record to SD card. Can it be fixed or is it just an expensive paperweight?

This may be the card as well. i would also preform a clean up to restore capacity of the recording media. it is also recommended that you run check disk regularly on the PC providing that there is no data on the hard disk on the camera.

Have you recently added an SD card? My Everio was doing the same thing. I found out a co-worker had added a new SD card with more memory. In looking at the user guide, the card was not listed as one that was "guaranteed compatible". I removed the new card and the camera is back to starting up fast and no HDD error. Even though I was not storing data to the SD, it was apparently causing data access problems for the HDD.

4 SDHC 8GB Card Error that"this card cannot be used to record or edit" What can I do? Thanks!

The message is clear. You cannot use the card.
You can check the manufacturer's website to see if there a new firmware. If there, is update the firmware (anyway) and hope it will support the card format. If there is no new firmware, read the manual for the type of cards and capacities supported and buy compatible cards. The old card can be returned to the store, sold to someone, or saved for future devices.

My JVC HDD GZ-MG365 will not record to the HD. It keeps coming up with an HDD error.

Try to format your HDD on the camera itself. Formatting is available in the menu. Formatting your HDD outside your unit is not recommended. Make sure to back up important files. Hope it Helps

HDD Error!

Take it to a camera store or to a Best Buy store and see if the hard drive has a problem with it such as a bent recording head.

Did the hard drive format completely?
