Cannot tighten the drive belt on my Fisher and Paykel DE04 electric dryer.

I took the drive belt off of the motor to adjust the motor, it was making noise. I think I fixed the problem with the motor, but now I cannot put the drive belt back properly. It is very loose and I don't know how to route it, I guess. Thank you for any help.

fixer1950 you are a genius!!! The dryer is working but it's still making a metal on metal sound occasionally. I believe I need a new motor? Thanks again, xswampman

Remove the belt from the motor and pull it out of the tensioner. Put it back through the tensiner from the other side of the bracket. (If you put it in right to left, this time, put it in left to right ). The belt will seem very tight to try to get onto the motor but, it's supposed to.

Fisher paykel dryer DE04-US6 just get a buzz sound when i push start button.

Open up the door and push the door switch and hit the start button and try to turn the drum by the baffle in the dryer and it it starts to go then you need a new motor.

Fisher and paykel clothes dryer wont turn with clothes in it.

Hi
Most dryers work with a belt around the drum. Either the belt is stretched and needs replacement or there may be a belt tensioner which needs adjustment to tighten the belt.
What is happening in your case is that the belt is slipping on the drum as it is too loose.
Best wishes,

Squealing Fisher Paykel Dryer DE05-US2

dryer's have a long belt that runs around the drum. a common culprit is an idler pulley on the belt tensioner. you can take off the front of the dryer and oil it for a temp fix. it will probably need to be replaced

When I turn on our Fisher Paykel DE06 dryer it just hums.

You most likely have a broken belt. If not it is the main motor.
