Hello, I need help, I bought a My Book at the Walmart store today and I just wanted more memory so my computer would run faster. Now I have this Memo Auto Sync and Memo Auto Backup going in the back...

If you were wanting more memory to make your computer run faster, you didn't need a hard drive, you needed more RAM (random access memory), which comes in the form of long, slender cards that plug into the motherboard. You'll have to shut your system down, unplug it, open the case, locate the memory cards, read what's on the stickers on them, then get more of the same. If you've got a BestBuy, or Staples, or OfficeMax, or some other store that offers in store service and installation, you'll do yourself a real service by letting them do it. If you don't know what you're doing, you can really screw things up.

Alternately, you can access some decent how-to videos on youtube.

An external hard drive will give you a place to store seldom accessed stuff, or backups, but it's way too slow for regular use, and has little or nothing to do with speeding your computer up.

I don't have hear sound after reinstalling my computer

You'll need to get the drivers for your soundcard. You can go to the manufacturers website for your computer make or otherwise post your make and model and we can direct you to the right drivers :)

Computer won't restart or shut off

Hi,
I had the same problem & I'm running the same OS. It happened after an update too. This is what I did. I made a new shortcut on my desktop for shutoff & restart, I just use this shortcut now & it works OK. If you want to try it this is how I did it...

XP Users:
1. Right click the Desktop and select New /Shortcut.
2. A screen will appear asking you for a Command Line. Here's what you put in that box: ( it's best if you copy & paste this into the box)

For Shutdown:
Shutdown -s -t 0

For Restart:
Shutdown -r -t 0

Presario desktop windows vista, shuts down unexpectedly

Windows Vista will not install on old computers. If this is your case try installing Windows XP, If this does not work you might want to try Linux (Ubuntu). which will run on almost any old computer with full capabilities.
It is free and you can download it from
