Film will not advance on monolta 7000

You may have reached the end of the film canister or the canister may be jammed. Try rewinding your film and removing the canister and then see if you can advance the camera. If you still cannot advance the camera, you most likely have a problem with the internal gears and will need to have the camera serviced.

Hope that helps,
BAX

Everything seems to function well, actually, I've never used this camera. Got if off of ebay, so maybe I was gypped. Anyways, the film advance lever seems to be stuck. It only goes half way. I can put...

If the lever won't advance even when there is no film in the camera, then I would say there is a problem. (p.s. You haven't told us the make and model)

When you put the film in the meter thats shows you how many exposures you have left stays on the s instead of going to one. The film is being pulled properly and is acting normal but even the sound doesnt...

Hi,

I would definitely be concerned that the film is not advancing. I have a Minolta that has the same problem. I missed many a picture because I didn't pay attention to the meter showing the film advancing. I would just make sure the film is advancing by taking a couple shots with the back open before closing it.

If you are positive the film is advancing, it really doesn't matter what the meter says as long as the film is stopping after each exposure.

Finally, if the film is advancing , but the meter is not, and you want it to, you will need to see an experienced repairman to correct it.

Good luck.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Load film in camera press shutter release film dosent stop at 1 keeps going

This may be normal.
Since I don't know what you have, I can't say.
Some camera models are designed to advance the film all at once. then, as you take pics, it winds the film back into the canister, one at a time. If you then open the back of the camera by mistake, you do not expose all your film. Some early Canon Sureshots had that feature.
If your camera keeps trying to advance the film past the end of the roll, have it fixed or replace it.

I was taking some photos (I had got around taking 4 exposures) and all of a sudden (and this is the first time its ever happened) I was not able to take anymore pictures. It sounds like the Shutter Release...

it seems to think you reached the end of the film. Try rewinding. Once in a great while film does not want to exit the canister for whatever reason. It stops. that creates tension, film advance motor stresses out and signals the computer program which tells you that it thinks you're outa film. REWIND!!!

I doubt you did anything wrong. Try rewinding the film. Another possible fix if its electronic issues is to remove power(battery) and reinstall battery.

AE-1 When I advance the film the winder does not spin.

It is probably that the film in the canister is advancing and once it takes up all the slack in the film canister the film tightens and moves the spindle which then moves the winder.

My film advance lever will not advance

Make sure the arm that slides into top of the film canister is engaged all the way. Sometimes, if it doesn't seat properly, it won't hold the film canister tight enough.
Also, check to make sure the little film advance cogs are lined up properly with the holes in the edges of the film. This is the problem 90 percent of the time.
