If your computer is very slow then first of all try troubleshooting it from the first.
Computer gets slow due to many reasons , such as Viruses,Mal ware,Trojans and many more.Also the speed of your processor plays an important role

So first of all scan your system with good and updated anti viruses.

After that if system is slow then try De fragmenting your system. When you open "My Computer" "Right click" any drive and click "Properties"
Select "Tools" tab from above. Click on "De fragment now" and click "De fragment" This will arrange the files properly on your system and give a boost to your system. Try De fragmenting all drives.

After the above steps you are not satisfied then Remove unnecessary installed programs form your computer.You can do this from the control panel in that select "Add remove programs" and remove unwanted programs.

After this all steps your system is slow then you have to change your Processor or replace the mother board this will surely improve your system's speed

Computer slow downs are possible at all times. The only thing required is that the problem should be found and fixed at the right time.

My HD is 160 GH and the system get slow and slow i dont have bulky files nor have i any programme that is my problem

Over time windows registry gets clogged with registry keys that no longer are in use, so does windows temp files. Cleaning your system manually is not recommended unless you know exactly what you're doing. Good news is there are programs that you can download and use that will clean your system and windows registry. (Free). Open the link provided; Then click either link,
Download from or Alternative Download. Another free program you can use which runs faster than windows defrag is a program called, Defraggler;
There are other programs that can degrade the overall performance of programs within you're system. Keeping you're anti-virus software up to date is very important along with windows updates. Try the above programs. I use both and it helps my system maintain its over-all speed.

Happy New Year!

if your comp has recently slowed down it is advisable to get a recomended virus and spyware/adware cleaner and do a scan with the latest updates and definitions installed.and like bootz84 said clean the heardware and give your os a spring clean.

in extreme case a factory default or a new install operating system can also be influential.

My pc is very slow running.

A lot of the time.. well more like 99% of the time, if a virus has infected your computer, your installed virus protection program will no be able to detect it. So what to do?

-Disable your "system restore" first. 95% of viruses live in your system restore. If a you don't, than the next part will be a waste of time.

-Go to . Run the scan....
