Watch movie from ibm t43 on sony bravia tv

I have a dvd that will only play in vlc media player and i wanna watch it on my sony bravia. The audio works but i cant get the picture to show on my tv. I have the chord plugged into the PC IN slot on the tv and plugged into the computer can someone please tell me if theres A setting on the tv or computer that im missing, because the tv keeps saying no signal when i put it on the PC input. please helpppp

It sounds like you need a mpeg codec to play dvd the software you are using doesnot need that to play dvds but windows does you could try a software like power dvd 6.0 this have a mpeg driver included windows can use.then media player can also play dvd using the codec from power dvd

    ok you may have to hit the Fkey that switches the screen and ext mon to geta signal out to tv.also make sure the tv is set to the correct in line. on some computer the s-video and extrenal out put for video are default set to off on this laptop its the F3 key but may be differant on your computer.ckick it more then one time 1 click may turn both on internal and external and another ckick may turn the s-video on sorry i missed the rest of your question some how.

Media player wont play movies but will down load muisc and write information to cd
Media player requires special Codecs and plugins in order to watch movies! Most cases they are not free, but here is the site which you can acquire them.

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 Notebook running WindowsXP with a DVD-RW/CD-RW drive. When I insert a DVD to play or to copy it won't work, it tells me I need a DVD decoder. How can I get one to solve this...

Just download FFDShow and VLC MEDIA PLAYER.
Its extremely rare with this combination, to find a movie that wouldn't play,
get FFDShow here http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=5550&s=50
with ffdshow all you need to do is to run the setup file and click next repeatedly untill the setup is complete, and then just finish it, close it and its done, works on the background when movies are played.

After you got these two installed, you should be able to play most if not all of the movies out there.

open vlc media player and then click File, dvd movie.

I cant open my movies
if you are trying to play movies in Media Player, then Media Player will not support all the video file types. You can use VLC media player to watch movies and install a codec pack to watch movies in Media Player.

On the right hand side, you will see K-Lite codec pack
Download and install the pack then you can watch the movied in Media Player.

"You need to moviex player to play this file" ..... I recently downloaded 2012 dvdrip xvid ...... when i try to run it VLC says "Could not read the file" Real opens its web browser and opens...
It will decode the audio for you to watch DVD on

you need to find an approprieate programme that will be able to play movies of any format.

go to filehippo.com and download VLC or Videolan and a Gomplayer or Divx. I am sure that these would be able to play you your movies.

A DVD burned with Studio 10.8 plays on our stand alone DVD player, but it won't play on our computer.
check what mode the cd video is you may have to burn another one with the correct mode for pc
Right click program on cd go to properties check video name plus what is after the . ie home.wmv as you need to burn cds with a general code
Try VLC Media Player on computer this plays all my video media

My computer wont let me watch movies now. it keeps saying something about my dvd decoder wasnt installed.
if you bought the computer new or the DVD drive new , you whould have got a CD with it , most probably with something like WinDVD or something , if you have the specific CD with DVD software on it install it , as it will enable you to watch DVD's using Windows media player etc..

if you bought the computer second hand etc.. and or cant find the cd's a free solution is to download VLC media player (Download here) the only disadvantage about using this free solution is that you will have to play the DVD's through VLC you wont be able to use windows media player etc. to play DVD's as VLC does not require decoder software to play DVD's

otherwise you can purchase software such as WinDVD and this will enable you to play using your media player of choice.
