My colors on the screen were way off

Here are a few steps you can try to fix the screen color issue on your Chromebook:

1. Adjust the brightness: Click on the time in the bottom right corner of your screen, then drag the brightness slider to adjust the brightness level.
2. Check the color settings: Click on the time in the bottom right corner of your screen, then click on the gear icon to access settings. Scroll down to the Device section and click on Displays. Check the color settings and make sure they are set to default.
3. Reset the Chromebook: If the above steps do not work, try resetting your Chromebook to its default settings. Click on the time in the bottom right corner of your screen, then click on the gear icon to access settings. Scroll down to the Advanced section and click on Reset Settings. Click on the Powerwash button to reset the Chromebook.
4. Check for updates: Make sure your Chromebook is up to date with the latest software updates. Click on the time in the bottom right corner of your screen, then click on the gear icon to access settings. Scroll down to the About Chrome OS section and click on Check for Updates.

If none of these steps work, it may be a hardware issue and you should consider contacting the manufacturer or a repair technician for further assistance.

adjust brightness and see if it noticeable, sound like one of the back light is bad, take bake to apple for a replacemnet

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

CONVERGENCE SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.

You do have a failure in the convergence circuit of your set. If you are good at soldering you can replace the IC's yourself. They are on the large circuit board on the left side of the set looking from the back, and attached to a large aluminum heat sink. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, I reccomend removing the board and sending it to PTS corp in Indiana. They are pretty reasonable repairing boards, and a lot less than buying a new one.

i think you need a tech .because all the users adjustment were tried.

Movement of any TV can result in a problem caused by bad
solder connections.In your case, the red convergence IC......
Found on a circuit board,mounted on large heatsinks........
Part # STK392-040.....Change both for prevent maintenance.
Do not use generics - I use OEM or better = Sam,Pan,Hitachi.
After repair,recheck alignment................T.

as it has fallen on the floor

due to that its deflection coil position might  have  changed a little.

due to that its left corner has gone down.

 

deflection coil has convergence magnet on it so due to that there is change in color also.

 

please call tech to re position of deflection coil every thing will be fine as it was.

as per buying another it is up to you.
