Can I replace Keypad cover for Frigidaire microwave plmv168cc1.

We did not use proper cleaning method of the keypad cover on the Frigidaire microwave plmv168cc1. Thus, the keypad cover is blemished or blurred - almost like it was rubbed with an abrasive. Can it be replaced?

Yes, the display can be replaced. You can order the part on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number as listed in your question and look under the "Control Panel" heading for item number 14. The part number is 5304429419. I hope this helps you.

If you have a stuck key or non-responsive key, most of the time you will have to replace the keypad for this microwave oven repair. If your keypad is connected to your control board by a flat ribbon wire, try disconnecting it and clean the silver contacts with an ordinary pencil eraser. After cleaning, plug it back in and try it. How to replace the front buttons?

Most microwaves use a membrane type keypad that is glued to the front panel..they can be expensive though, but aren't too hard to replace...it involves removing the cover...unplugging the keypad ribbon cable...removing the old keypad...and reinstalling the new keypad

Kenmore microwave - unresponsive keypad

Repaired the unresponsive keypad on my older Kenmore (model 721.68100): Unplug. Remove integral cover for top and sides which is held in place by 5 metal screws. The cover then slides toward the rear. Unplug two connectors to back of keypad and clean them (I used contact spray cleaner). Some of the components retain a charge even when unplugged.

Can I replace keypad for my PLMV168KC3 Frigidaire Microwave?

Is it a membrane type touchpad?

These are usually held in place with an adhesive. You can pull the old one off and stick the new one on. The complication usually involves the connection between the touchpad and the body of the microwave. This connection may or may not be easily accessible.

Remove a door on a microwave

I wouldn't remove the door myself if I were you. If you just got the microwave, it should be under a return/replace policy, or a warranty. I would recommend returning the microwave and getting a sturdier one, as you don't know if the problem exists for all microwaves in that series, and most stores don't allow the replacement to be return/replaced.
