Have had PS3 hooked up to Sony HDTV-has been working fine-got new receiver-hooked up PS3 to new receiver via HDMI-has been working fine for about 3 weeks (games, DVD's, Blu Ray DVD's). All of a sudden I have audio but no video-can't even see menu screen. Checked all cables-are all still connected. Did "hard"? reset (on/off switch on back)then held down O/I off/on switch on front for 5 seconds and heard it beep, but still no video (this happened all of a sudden-has been working fine)...Help!!?

You will need the optical cable. My receiver only passes video through the hdmi. So I hooked up the HDMI cable to the tv, and the optical cable to the receiver. Once that is done you have to go to the audio settings for the PS3 and chose audio through the optical.
There is possibly an easier way!! If your receiver has RCA audio out ports you can hook that up to your TV. It will not be Dolby Digital surround sound, but it will still be stereo sound!! There should be ports on the back of your TV that say audio in that will support these cables also. I had the same problem when I hooked up my PS3 to my HDTV. I wanted to hear my gameplay in stereo!! I hope this helps you out!!!
