Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

Had difficulty changing ink cartridges on Dell all in one photo92

Since that time solved that but now printer still says cartridges are empty when they are not! How do I change this?

Start at page 49 of the manual ("http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/924/en/om_en/om_en.pdf" if you don't have it) and go through to page 58 to try to find method to solve this for you. good luck!

Hello. You can refill the existing cartridge without a problem. Other brand cartridges will not work as they are all programmed only to use DELL model cartridges.
To Refill the cartridge you simply need to pull the label off, Drill the Air holes out, test what colour is behind the hole by sticking a toothpick into it and inject the correct colour.
If the cartridge leaks from the print head then the cartridge has been overfilled and you need to **** out ink (half ml at a time) until the dripping stops.
The only issue with this is that the printer may not accept a cartridge that it thinks is empty, and even though you fill it, the in-built counter in the cartridge will still read "0"
Some models will print with a empty cartridge, constantly reminding you that it is empty. if you simply ignore or click continue you can keep on printing, but some models will not print at all if it thinks the cartridge is empty.

I changed ink cartriges and it won't let me print it says ink is empty. How do you reset the ink levels?


There is no reset for ink levels. When you open the cover do the cartridge lights flash indicating the cartridge is empty. This problem can arise from using compatable cartridges. Try a set of genuine cartridges and the problem will probably be solved.

I have replaced the black ink and it still request that I install a new cartridge?


This sounds like a defective cartridge. I would first try changing to another new black ink cartridge (preferably OEM) to eliminate the printhead as the culprit. If this was an aftermarket or reloaded cartridge it is probably defective.

I just put a new cartridge in my dell AIO 946 printer but it still says the ink level is low.


well this always happens with all printers. I have a HP, in the beginning when I first bought the printer, it came with a ink cartridges, it showed the levels. But after the ink was all gone, it showed empty ink levels. The best way to solve this is to ignore this. When you see that your paper is poorly printer, then your ink cartridges need changing.

Refilled my Dell Ink Cartridge


yes, it's safe, and if you are dissatisfied with the cartridge, take it up with the cartridge re-filler...better yet, spend about $100 on a black & white laser printer (HP), and get 2000 pages per cartridge, and reduce cost per page by 20 times or more! And If you buy compatibles for this (which are more reliable) -save even more.

Overiding Empty Cartridge error for Dell A10 962


maybe it have the ink level chip which can be resetted by removing the cartridge and oning and offing the printer for 5 times within 10 minutes coz it saves data of a cartridge upto 5 use before only.. and 6th time insert it.

I would take out both cartridges and put them in again. Realign the printer and the error codes should remove themselves. Try turning the printer off and on before puting the cartridges in again. That may make a difference. You can let your computer know not to tell you when the ink is low too. Let me know how this work for you.

From reading other sites, remanufactured cartridges won't reset the ink level of the printer; it must be something Dell sets in their cartridges.
