This is a land line system not a cell phone.

  • linden542 Feb 20, 2009

The phone system has been working now for about two months with the new carrier. The old carrier has somehow got into the system to block it. If it's by altering the software would a rest to factory settings fix it?

What do you mean by + hour and + minutes ?

  • linden542 Feb 20, 2009

We're in dispute, their in liquidation and before the courts.

Rylee gave me a reset, I just don't know what + hour and + minutes is.

  • linden542 Feb 20, 2009

It is not a provider problem it's an equipment problem, we have three lines and they are all working connected direct. We are licensed cablers. It is something to do with the programming of the NEC equipment. They somehow got into it yesterday and altered something.

After you restart your phone do the above procedure.

Else they have activated Dial Block that restricts your phone to dial a no. or multiple no.s

And, if Dial Block has already been set by an extension user,

the supervisor can not release it.

It can only be released by getting a firmware update or by getting it unlocked bu the previous provider.

You need to contact NEC and get the firmware updated in your phone . They will update the phone from version 1.00 to version 2.00 .Once its done the phone will work for sure.

    Please revert for further clarifications.

    Thanks
    Rylee

Yes, they need to re-install the firmware(phone's software programming) into it again. And, that is the only way to get it unlocked.

My cordless phone in my restaurant is finally had it. NEC wants $300 for a new cordless! If I buy a different cordless made by a different company, will it be compatible with my NEC corded phone?

No, You must use an Nec telephone, thus the price. If you need it on one line only you could connect any cordless phone on the dial tone before the NEC system. This will ring and also you can call out but you will not be able to transfer from or to it and you cannot use any NEC system features.
