Your print-heads, which take the ink, and spray it onto the paper, have become "clogged". Run a "print-head-cleaning-cycle" to try to unclog those jets.

There is the possibility that the scanner assembly has jumped a tooth on the drive belt on one side so the scanner is just slightly crooked. To correct this the scanner assembly would have to be taken apart enough to correctly line the assembly back up. I wouldn't recommend that you try this yourself unless you have some experience at this sort of thing. Contact Brother for an authorized repair center near you for assistance.

take q tip and dip in alcohol with printer off clean paper wheels let dry completely. Your printer should be okay then. Make sure you do not drip any alcohol inside the printer and that the printer is off and unplugged.

you open the tray and make the adjustments inside. you can just place the paper at the center and adjust those blue locks there.

You'd only get that from brother, and it would likely cost more than a replacement machine.

Must be the clutch that's shot, if cleaning the rollers didn't work

my brother mfc-440cn printer says, "unable to print 51" on the screeen after if off (which it woudn't let me do. I had to unplug it. It just won't work.

the paper feeder cant grip the back side of the paper. It slip through the feeder and the positioning led control cant adjust the correct positioning for printing!

Try another brand of paper!
