Question about Computers & Internet
I have a Toshiba spa40 laptop the battery is ok and the laptop will run on a charged battery or power supply but for some reason it will not charge the battery. is it a faulty fuse or conection on the motherboard that i can repair if so which one thanks
Check that the power supply is the correct one for the laptop, check that the power requirements of the laptop match up with what is being supplied by the power supply.
if the labels match, for Toshiba the usual supply voltage is 15VDC, if the supplied voltage is 1 volt below recommended the battery will not charge.
If all appears correct then check the output voltage with a multimeter it should read 15V (-0.25V +1V).
If the power supply is a bit low you'll need to buy a new or used one.
