Question about LG CHOCOLATE VX8500 Cellular Phone

Open Question

I have an LG Chocolate 8550, a micro SD card, and a mac iBook G4. When I add music to my card and put it in the phone, it won't recognize files unless they were individually placed in the music folder-if I move an album folder, the phone doesn't recognize it. But when I drop individual songs in the folder and open the music on the phone, almost all of the info filed with the song is gone-album name, artist, etc. It only keeps the song and the track name. It also makes a duplicate file that has _ before the name, and won't play on the phone. Are there ways to keep the song information attached to the song? Can I get rid of those duplicate folders? (I try on the phone, but it won't erase them.)

load the software on to the pc from the phone then just transfer the sounds from the pc to the phone without the use of your sd-card.

Ok, I figured it out. Well, ok, maybe I didn't figure it out, but I did solve the problem -- by making sure everything on the SD card was backed up, and then reformatting it. Then I put all my MP3's back into the "my_music" folder on the card, and it all showed up on the phone -- finally!

There is a small "lock" on the memory card that can slide from one side to another. Take out your card push the lock to the other end and then try accessing your music again.

kk to add music make sure you syn the phone and the cp do the data and all then put .mp3 on all the media files and see if it works. Then if that doesnt go to computor format the card and then put it in the phone. Otherwise you need new stuff.

LG Chocolate micro SD card

You need to format inside the phone. Go to Settings-Memory-Card Memory-Options-Format card. Do that, put it back in your computer, and put music (MP3's) into the My_Music folder.

Hi Eman,

Plug in you r phone with your USB to your PC and then Go to MY Computer and see the drive letter where your LG phone connect (removable disk), click there and see the sub folders inside and you will see a folder named MUSIC, here where you can save the mp3 (music) you wanted for your phone.

My LG Chocolate VX8550 wont recognize micro sd card

Here are the steps I took:

  1. Insert the micro sd card with the metal plates facing you (that took me a second). Don't worry about the little push you have to give.
  2. Go to the Settings & Tools option in the Menu.
  3. Select *. Memory
  4. Selct 3. Card Memory
  5. Select Options while the bar is on "1. Memory Usage". The only option available to me was 1. Format and select that.
  6. It will ask for the phone lock code-if you have never set it IT IS THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER.
  7. The phone will format the card and put the file folders on it.
  8. Use the adaptor USB reader or whatever you have to connect it to the computer. Copy songs to the my_music folder.

for mp3 as ringtones:

  1. You should select the part of the song you like, and can add effects with this:http://www.mptrim.com/
  2. To set it as a ringtone, send it as an attachments to you areacodeandyourphonenumber@vzwpix.com. It must be small to go through, around 30 seconds.
  3. You will get a text message, and select options. Select Save As Ringtone.
