This is not a desk top computer, so it does not have a hole anywhere in the laptop. Thanks for trying.

I have a gatewya M-series computer, the dvd is stuck inside the computer and will not eject (it is still inside even though I cannot see it)

Inserted a DVD into the drive, the disc then disappeared into the baseof the laptop. I can get the drive to open and close, but the disc will not eject with it.

There is a small hole, usually near the eject button. Unbend a paper clip and carefully push the paper clip into the hole, try to keep it straight. drive should pop right out.

Thank you for the advice about sticking a paperclip in the hole by the eject button. I was scared of being injuried. But it worked!!! I used the large paperclip and the CD popped out within seconds!

Thanks again!

My CD is stuck in my Toshiba Satellite A505D laptop slot, with no hole near the Eject button.

Look on the cover on the tray near the eject button. Should be a tiny hole.
Get something like a straightened out paperclip and insert it in to the hole and push firmly but carefuly. It's an emergency eject for a stuck tray.

HOW DO i GET CD TO EJECT? WHAT DO I HIT?

There is an eject button on the drive tray, when the notebook is powered up then press this button to open the tray.
If it still does not open then straighten a paper clip and insert it into the pin hole in the tray and push it in gently until the tray pop out, you can then pull the tray fully out to get at the CD.

My system is not working.its coming as operating system not found.how do i eject a cd and put in windows 7 cd

Ejecting a CD is easy as soon as you power on your laptop and get a beep sound just push the eject button on the CD ROM. In case even after that the CD is not ejecting then kindly take a paper pin and look for a very small hole next to eject button and push with the help of the paper pin inside as you might push a small button on television with a paper pin. CD will be ejected. It seems that you were earlier using win XP and due to some reason your hdd has corrupted. You have chosen the best option by installing win7 as this is the only available software which does not require a format, hence, all your data either in C drive or anywhere is safe. If you require any further assistance kindly comment.

Try opening Windows media player or iTunes and use the eject button from there to open the cd drawer (Full Mode>Menu Bar>Play>Eject).
If that doesn't work, try Fn + F10.
Also see this forum, which suggests some Dells have a bios issue.
In any case, have you tried shutting down the system and rebooting to see if eject function returns?

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

"0 not found" Error message when using DVD player on laptop

This is generally an indication that the DVD end of the drive is going out. First try a different or updated DVD decoding software. It could just be a simple glitch with the software, or that the software is outdated.

Power light is on but there is no display

Taking out the battery would do just as much harm as holding the power button down would. This could make you lose some memory or even corrupt important files. But if you have truly tried everything else (even holding the power button down until it shut off) and it still did not shut off then you would need to take the battery out to be able to try and fix it.
If possible, I would take it to a computer shop to avoid the possible corruption of your important files.
