You have to use a red, white, and yellow connection, or a red, white and s-video connection.

Two possibilities:

1) Connect a yellow composite A/V cable (or an S-video cable, if you prefer) from the video or monitor OUT of your cable or satellite box.

OR:
2) Connect a yellow composite A/V cable (or an S-video cable, if you prefer) from the video or monitor OUT of your TV (many TV's don't have such a thing).

Try recording again - it should work this time.

How do I RECORD FROM A CAMCORDER TO THE DVD SIDE OF THE UNIT

  1. Connect the camcorders yellow, red, and white (Audio/ Video) to the input on the back of the combo called AV1 or Video 1.
  2. Then turn the channel on the DVD recorder to AV1 or Video 1. (A couple channels down from channel 2)
  3. Make sure camera is in VCR mode and hit play on camera
  4. You should see your camera video on your TV and rewind to the place you want to start recording and hit stop.
  5. Put an empty DVD in recorder and hit Rec. Button (usually red)
  6. Then hit play on your camcorder until you would like to stop
  7. Then hit stop on your DVD recorder and each section like this will be another chapter.
Good Luck

You have to plug the video cam into the front ports of the Magnavox.
Then press the Setup Button
Go to Required Settings --> OK
Video Input --> OK
Go to E2 --> make sure it says "video in," unless you are using an S-Video connector --> OK
Press Setup

Start playing from Camcorder and make sure that you can see the picture on your TV screen.
Press REC on the Magnavox
