Chances are with this model, you have overloaded the infeed and broke the plastic drive gears.
Good luck on finding service and parts because on these cheeper products, the parts are almost as expensive as replacing the machine.

I have a SPL-TXC122a shredder and I need the plastic drive gear Know where to get one?

I tried to get one for my machine but to no avail. So I fixed my gear myself. Go to your local hardware and buy a "Devcon" plastic welder. Not inexpensive.
You have a broken tooth on the plastic gear. Use a very small
drill bit the size of a big paper clip. drill three holes where the tooth broke off ( if part of the gear tooth is still there, file it down smooth.) Cut three pieces off a paper clip and insert them into the holes. Make them extend to below the gear and not to extend above the original tooth. Now you will make a tooth with the plastic
weld. Fill where the broken tooth was and let it set. Also fill where the paper clip extends below the tooth. This will give it more strength. Let it dry and harden. Now with a small file, file it to make it fit to the next tooth so it doesn't make a bump. " if you can before the mix dries, replace the gear and turn by hand the steel gears to make a smooth fit. Wipe any excess mix away. Good luck....
PS. mine is still working after three years....Hint do not try to shred
to many papers at one time. And once in a while put some 3 in one oil on a piece of paper in a sig sag motion and run it thru the machine. This will help to quiet the noise and oil the cutting blade.

LOUD NOISES ARE HAPPENING

Unplug the machine from the electrical, then remove the unit from the basket and make sure the blades are clear of scrap paper.

Replace the unit and make sure it is facing in the correct direction and squirt, or lightly pour mineral oil (or machine oil, or something like WD-40) directly on the rollers and let it absorb into the remaining paper for a few minutes then try running the unit.

If that solves your problem, you should squirt a little lubricant onto the blades for every one hour of use.

It is possible there is a paper jam.

Unplug the unit from electrical. Remove any scraps of paper from the bottom of the blades.

Replace the unit on the basket (make sure it is facing in the correct direction) and squirt, or lightly pour mineral oil (or machine oil, or something like WD-40) directly on the rollers and let it absorb into the remaining paper for a few minutes then replug it in the electrical and try running the unit.

If that solves the problem, squirt a small amount of lubricant on the cutting blades for every one hour they are in use.

Yesterday when i was using it it started to make a really loud noise. reverse makes the normal noise but on auto it sounds bad. i cleaned out the inside but there is still paper stuck that i cant pull out....

It will not hurt to pour some lightweight shredder oil onto the cutting shafts....depending on how much you use the machine this should almost be part of a regular operation... I normally suggest to customers to pour the shredder oil onto a sheet of paper in an "S" pattern and then shred the sheet of paper....also shredders will work more reliably if you only shred about 70% of the rated capacity...less strain on the motor and parts and this results in fewer jams and longer machine life.

GBC Shredmaster 3220S stopped taking paper in and makes a loud,

Myi shredder does the same thing so I removed the screws to see what was going on inside.

What happened is the fan tail that spins when the shredder is in operation and cools the motor had broken off. I got some gorilla glue, adhered the fan back on, then let it dry for 24 hours. Replaced the screws, turned on the shredder on it worked just fine. The loud grinding noise stopped and the shredder worked wonderfully. I am looking for a replacement part because I don't trust whether the glue maintains its hold when the motor heats up after excessive use . Darlene

Shredder starts to shred, then makes a loud noise, and blades don't turn

sounds like a couple of teeth on a drive gear may be broken. call Fellows at1-800-955-0959.

The shredder is making a thumping noise like something is out of whack. Tried lubricant and running back and forth. It still thumps.

Common problems.
Jammed paper.

When sherdding paper that has any type of adheasive or glue, such as junk mail advertisments, the glue gets stuck on the blades.
FIX:
1 - UNPLUG
2 - remove top cover
3 - using a small screwdriver or other pointed small object, carefully clean out
the blade paths of jammed paper. Typically there is a cylinder of blades on the underside that does the shredding.
4 - be careful not to damage or PRY the blades, just enough pressure to get the paper out.
5 - dont use oil or lubricants, they can GUM up the blades.
6 - assemble

Give it a try.

Have you had a maintenance work done to this machine lately.
You gears may be dry. This could damage your blade. It could also be the gear. Have tech look at it. or if you closed to the jersey area I can recommend a tech. I can not walk you through this because it is a big machine and better to be operated by train tech.

Good luck
let me know
