I would start with updating your sound drivers.

Visit intel's website for your specific motherboard and download and install the latest drivers. Let us know the results.

Monitor does not show images all the time What should I do?

Hello Stanley,

There is a few things that it could be, changing the cable is a good initial troubleshooting. When you get the computer up and running you can try and make sure that all the drivers for your video card are updated to the latest version. You can find them on your computers manufacturer support page or if it is an aftermarket video card it will be on their support page. Now as for the ticking sound, it could be that a fan in the case or on the video card has failed or is starting to fail. They are fairly cheap to replace only about $5 - $15. It could be the reason that your screen is black as the video card may be overheating due to fan failure. If you are comfortable opening the case to check on the fan while you have it unplugged from power. You can check each fan in the case to see if it turns freely. If none of this works and you still have the problem, then it may either be a power supply problem, or the video card could be giving up. Please keep in mind this is just a general diagnosis since you have not provided any error messages or system specs.

make sure that the sound card is securely seated with no dust in the socket then uninstall it restart your computer and reinstall the sound card and its drivers
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers

I'm am trying to play age of mythology and after the movie ends, error appears and states "initialization failed".

Initialization failed

This means that the game is attempting to initialize hardware such as the video card but has failed

This can be caused by a number of factors.

1. Your hardware does not meet the games hardware requirements
2. Your hardware requires farther configuration to run the game properly

if you are certan that the game supports your hardware you may need to perform
some extra steps to get your game working

"Failed to initialize" is an incomplete error message because it does not tell you what exactly failed
a more complete error message would read "Failed to initialize the video subsystem" and then it would give an error code such as Error Code xxx telling you exactly what error code to look up
to determine what exactly failed.

Most of the time when a game says ( failed to initialize ) that means a video issue
this may mean missing files or wrong versions of files or incompatable hardware.
