The most common problem with microwaves is the door protection circuit blows a fuse. the door catches operate switch that if they do not operate correctly( normally after the door has been slammed). the good part is they place the fuse inside the casing. so remove the power open the casing( several screws) and check all the fuses in side.

This seems like a pretty easy fix. I've had a GE microwave where the handle basically breaks off so you can't open it which is a real pain. Lots of complaints about that one! Apparently you have to be careful of what you use to clean microwaves as windex seems to be a bad choice. Whatever type of door protection they use on microwaves disintegrates eventually after too much ammonia. http://buildsitepro.com/home.asp

During cooking,microwave stopped,no power.

Not good news; Panasonic uses a technologically superior power supply with higher efficiency but an overall worse record than those using a 'linear' supply with far fewer parts and a good track record of reliability.

The modern (switched mode) power supply places a lot more stress on components and requires more and higher quality parts than the old-style circuit.

Load test.

A simple safety test.
Place 1/2 litre of water in a glass container. Measure the temperature of the water.
Place in microwave and heat on full power for 1minute.
Measure the temperature after it has stood for 1minute.
If the temperature difference is more than 9 degrees Celcuis the magnetron is working and producing about 700Watts of heat.
If your microwave is labelled with 900 or 1000Watts. That is about right.
If the temperature is less then the magnetron is not working properly and may need replacing.

This a only a rough guide and any doubts you should consult an authorised service agent.

My Bosch innowave microwave oven is 3 years old. It has suddenly stopped cooking and heating food, yet the light comes on and the turntable works. Please help.

It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

This is a job for a professional but if you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!capacitor is discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

Exhaust fan has stopped working Need to troubleshoot

Even though this is a pain, I need to suggest that you perform the following:
Remove the microwave from the mounting position as follows:
1. Place a cardboard box of sufficient height to have the microwave rest on it with no more than about a 4-inch drop. Cover the box with a bath towel.
2. Using a power screwdriver, remove the 2 mounting screws located in the overhead cabinet base. (microwave front will tilt down onto the box)
3. Firmly lift on the rear of the microwave to unhook it from the wall mount bracket.
4. Once removed, pull some slack on the power cord.
5. Slide the box and microwave forward (toward you)....enough to see the fan blades
6. Place a small cup of water in the microwave and press quick start (30 seconds)
7 Look at the fan blades. If NO movement, open door. Hand rotate blades a full turn to ensure free movement.
8. Restart microwave. (fan blades move - Yes/no)
If No, check power cable that supplies internal power to fan. Be sure it is connectied.
If yes - but only a slight movement - it is clogged with grease...remove it and spray with lots of Ammonia to clean fan elements. Shake excess moisture off. Retest.(fan blades move - Yes/no).
If yes, reverse removal procedure and enjoy....
If no, Replace fan assembly

Lost power suddenly

Could be; replacement fuses avail @ RadioShack or a similar place for a few bucks, so it's worth trying. Just remove the outer casing, look for the white plastic snap-on container (might say "FUSE" on the side). See this also:
