They are trying to make money off you!!!!!!! LIQUID!!!! Dont ever!!! use powder soap in your front loader. Powder soap doesnt dissolve all the way and then gets into the bearings of the washer and eats them away! This caused about a 450 dollar repair for your repairman. Never use powder soap.

Gltf1670as1can you use powder detergent in ?

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you want to know if you can use powder detergent in your Frigidaire washer, model# GLTF1670AS1. Below are the advised steps for the detergent dispenser of your washer.

• Add measured detergent to the detergent compartment of the dispenser drawer.
• Detergent is flushed from the dispenser at the beginning of the cycle. Either powdered or liquid detergent can be used. Note: Liquid detergent will drain into the washer drum as it is added.
• Low sudsing detergent is recommended for this washer. Use the manufacturer's recommended amount.
• If low sudsing detergent is not available, a reduced amount of regular detergent may be used. Because
reducing the amount of detergent may reduce cleaning, it is important to pretreat stains, sort carefully by color and soil level, and avoid overloading.
• Detergent usage may need to be adjusted for water temperature, water hardness, size and soil level of the load.
• For best results, avoid oversudsing.

Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

What is the partion insert for the washing powder container for?

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

That is the Liquid detergent partition...P/N 8061633. ( part number )

**This from ASKO...

Because ASKO washers use less water than conventional top-loading washers, you need less detergent and fabric softener. We recommend that you use a low-sudsing powder detergent only, preferably a high-efficiency (HE) detergent designed specifically for front-loading washers.

**(Liquid detergents tend to suds more, which make them more difficult to rinse out.)**

Detergent - The amount of detergent needed varies, depending on the detergent you use. For high-efficiency detergent specifically for front-loading washers, you should use the amounts recommended by the manufacturer.

Also, the amount of detergent needed can vary due to differences in water hardness. (Refer to the Use and Care Guide for more details.) If you choose to use a liquid detergent, start out with a very small amount, such as one or two tablespoons.

Hope that answers your question, let me know please. Thanks for choosing FixYa for your repair solutions today. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Please take a moment and rate the solution provided for you as well as a testimony if you feel it warranted.

Good luck.

Regards,

I have a Duet front loader and I've noticed that my towels get stiffer the more I wash them. I used to use liquid detergent and fabric softner, but the repair man suggested I use powder soap and...

No truth to powder being better .fabric softeners on the towels is fine it does help keep them soft they just don't absorb moisture as well.. I belive you biggest issue is over drying the towels, use a lower temp setting on dryer and do Not trust auto dry settings for towels, expermint with timed settings, if towels are not dry you can always add a few more minutes, but over temp and over dry will stiffen and age them prematurely

Do I put powder detergent in the same place I put Liquid detergent?

Detergent compartment
Add liquid or powdered detergent to this compartment for your
wash cycle. The detergent separator must always be in place,
either in the front or back position.
Do not fill beyond the “MAX” level.
Liquid or powdered color-safe bleach may be added to the
Main Wash compartment along with the same type of
detergent, liquid or powdered.
Liquid detergent: Put the SEPARATOR in the front position,
between the guides, as shown as shown by Position 1 below.
There will be no gap between the bottom of the wash cycle detergent
compartment and the bottom of the separator.

Powdered detergent:
Put the SEPARATOR in the back
position, behind the guides as shown by Position 1 below. There will be
a gap between the bottom of the wash cycle detergent
compartment and the bottom of the separator.

NOTE: The separator will be in the POWDER (back) position
when shipped from the factory.
