All you need to do is go to the lexmark website and download the drivers.

How do I use my x5495 to scan a resume and then to edit it with my Dell XP computer?

You'll need to scan the document with an OCR software package (Optical character recognition) that will recognize the letters themselves and transmit them to word processing application, such as Word for Windows. Most scanner packages come with some form of OCR utility, so check your installed software. You may already be set up!
Best of luck, William

I have a Lexmark 6150 and have misplaced my disk. I have a new computer and need to scan a document. I'm told I need to insert the OCR application located in my OCR directory of which I do not have. HELP!

The OCR application/software can only be installed using the installation cd. It's not available for download. I advise you to call Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK (1-800-539-6275) for the installation cd. They can better assist you with this request. They might be able to send you one for free. If you need more assistance, leave a comment. I'll get right back to it.

I missplaced my disc to install my lexmark X6100 or x6180 to my new computer

You can check the lexmark website, they offer downloads and contact information. You might have to order a new software disk from them for your specific product. Hope this helps and let us know if you need further assistance.

Cannot install printer/scanner

Forget the CD, you can download all necessary software from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&cc=us&lang=en&dlc=en&product=374584&

Also, although I'm not 100 certain, I think that you should first uninstall psc 1317, disconnect it from PC, install software and than connect it to PC. Trying both ways won't hurt for sure. ;-)
