Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
My Acer Acer Extensa 5620 no longer plays dvd's or cd's. I have Windows Vista installed and can't find the optical drive in the device manager to uninstall and reinstall the driver. Can anyone help?
The drive is probably defective. You can try to reseat the drive. Usually they're held in with one screw on the bottom of the laptop. Once you remove the screw you can just pull the drive out like a drawer and then stick it back in. If it doesn't work then it's likely that it's defective. You can get a replacement on ebay by model number or using the part numbers that are on the drive itself.
Hope this helps!
