Can't remove music off my mp3 to replace it with new music

It says device is not connected in the firmware.

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Your music will be erased when you run this firmware update. The instructions suggest that even if your mp3 player won't startup properly, if you plug it into your computer you should be able to access it as a removable disk, and copy all your music to a temporary folder on your computer.

Here are the steps:

  1. Plug your MP610 into your computer.
  2. Copy all your music to a temporary folder.
  3. Disconnect your MP610 from your computer.
  4. Disconnect as many USB devices as possible from your computer (to simplify identifying the MP610 at a later step, and avoid damaging other devices by trying to load the MP610 firmware into them by mistake.)
  5. Run the Firmware Update program 'MP610 T LCD Firmware Update for file sys err.exe'
  6. You will see a screen with up to 24 numbered, empty boxes.
  7. Connect the MP610 to your computer. It will show up in one of the boxes.
  8. Once the MP3 player shows up, click on the Firmware Feature icon to start the firmware upgrade.
  9. After the firmware update is complete, you will receive a checkmark in the firmware box.
  10. Disconnect the MP610.
  11. Close the firmware update software.
  12. Turn on the 610 to confirm it starts up and the display reads 'COBY'.
  13. Plug it back into your computer and copy your music back on to it.

My coby mp 610 wont play all the music i have on it.


I use a different MP3 player, but I noticed that mine wouldn't play .AAC files, only .MP3 files. I upgraded the firmware of mine and then it played everything. I noticed there is a new firmware upgrade for the COBY 610, so that might be of help to you.

You can find it at the cobyusa.com website by choosing 'Mp3 & Portable', then 'Mp3 & Mp4 Players', then your model 'MP610', from the support page. Or, here is the direct link to the file from Coby's servers.

Every time i try to turn mp3 on the screen only says coby the main screen wont show the music icon or let me do anything else

When i connect the device to my computer and make a playlist to sync the playlist it not doing nothing as if the device is not connected its got little zzzs as if its sleeping or not connecting


Try resetting the device it?s usually a small pinhole on the back or side of the device try holding that in for about 10 seconds OR Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturers website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings. **Drag and Drop** Connect your MP3 player to the computer. Some MP3 players connect directly to a USB port, while others connect to a USB port by way of a specific USB connector that comes with the MP3 player. Open the folder on the computer that contains the music files you want to transfer. This is usually the "My Music" folder; available from the "Start" menu, but it can be any folder where you save your music files. Scroll down to the song you want to transfer to the MP3 player. Right-click on the title. When the options are displayed, click on "Send To." Scroll down the "Send To" options and select your MP3 player. This can be listed as your MP3 player's name or as "Removable Drive." Click on this selection. Continue this process until you have transferred all songs that you want to your MP3 player. --**Windows Media Player**-- If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player, such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right side of the desktop tray.

When i try to sync my SA3025/37 with the songs that i have downloaded from Napster to my win media player10 as soon as the sync process starts i get an error message (win has encountered unknown problem)...


Hi,

Download & install the latest synching program.

Set your music files in the desired playback order by naming them in alphanumerical sequence such as 001_Drunken Monkey.mp3 followed by 002_Massachusetts.mp3 etc. prior to your transferring into the Digital Audio Player.

IMPORTANT: The player does not support the playback of copy protected (Digital Rights Management - DRM) music purchased from internet music stores.

You can download non copy protected music to the player via Windows Explorer

Hook up your player with the PC via the supplied USB cable.

Run Windows Explorer, and select the files to download from your music file source directory.

Drag and drop the selected files to the player, which is named as Philips in Windows Explorer.

Once the transfer process is complete, click on the removal icon on the task tray to stop and eject the player. When a message appears saying the USB device can now be safely removed from the system, click OK.

Unplug from the PC and enjoy the music on your player.

Upgrade the firmware

You can find the current Firmware version of your player in the settings menu under "Information".

Regularly check www.philips.com/support for new Firmware updates. If your firmware version is the same as the latest version posted on the support site then there is NO need to update the firmware.

However, if you do not have the latest version follows the steps below.

Connect the player to your PC.

Launch the Philips Device Manager at Start -> Programs -> Philips Digital Audio Player -> SA30XX -> Philips SA30XX Device Manager on your PC.

If you do not have this program installed yet, install it from the by-packed CD or download it from www.philips.com/support.

Make sure all other applications such as Windows Media Player or Windows Explorer that access the device are closed or else Device Manager will not recognize the device.

Make sure you are connected to the internet.

Click update, then follows on screen instruction to complete the firmware upgrade.

Download music


The Media Converter only works for video files. Music files must be transferred using Windows Media Player. The Philips Device Manager is only good for Repairs and firmware Updates.

System file missing


This means your MP3 device needs a new firmware. What you need to do is look for a new firmware for your MP3 device, and manually upgrade it. This will allow your iRiver to accept the attempted download you made.
