There is a screen by the brush that may be clogged. Make sure the water tank is on tight

Hoover steamvac shut off without making any noise

its very possible but just in case make sure the sensor is clean where you see it spinning that way you know the brushes are working open the plastic door and clean the net also if your dirt tank is full the suction will slow i am not sure if it will just stop but check that anyway too

Lost suction, gasket problem

This is a great basic steam cleaner. I have not heard of repeated problems of this type. The gasket is called a standpipe gasket. I would try to use a non-permanent sealant such as RTV silicone to adhear the gasket, eventually if this needed service you will want the gasket to be able to be removed.

Have a Hoover SteamVac with 5 brushes and it will not suck up any water and I have cleaned all the brushes but it still wont pick up any water

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Part of the problem is with your holding tank, there is a rubber gasket that seals the unit to pup the water and if that gasket is cracked or missing it will not pup. Also there could be something wrong with the suction motor or the Hoover SteamVac may be clogged and will not pup the water, if there is a way to say back track the suction then follow the suction back to the suction motor and if you see a clog – remove it. Otherwise you may have a bad suction motor and it would need replacing as a last resort. If the Hoover SteamVac is less than one year factory warranty it would be covered under the Hoover factory warranty and then feel free to contact the local Hoover Factory Authorized Dealer in your area, so call the cust serv @ Hoover and they can direct you to a dealer that would cover this under warranty. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds to me that you may have a clog or a vacuum leak in the vacuum line. The suction should be able to pickup the water into the holding tank for you. So please feel free to contact your local vacuum dealer or you can use a wire coat hanger to try to unclog the vacuum but if that fails contact the factory or your local vac dealer. . So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Lost Suction

Usually when there is no suction, one cause is the lid to the recovery tank is not on all of the way in the back. Also if you have that foam filter on the underneath side of the recovery tank lid, it needs to have a 1/4 in or so gap from the top of the filter to the top of the lid. Some models also have a duct that sits in front of the recovery tank, and if it isn't there, you have no suction.

No suction

I finally got my steamvac F5914-900 suction to work after I read someone review about it on amazon. Here is what that person suggested for suction problem and to my surprise it worked.

1. Any time you aren't getting suction, the first thing to do is check the dirty water bin. I re-seated the thing about ten times this morning, trying to figure out why suction on the unit had ceased. (The dirty water tank was bone dry.) I was frustrated because I was absolutely sure everything was seated properly, but was still getting no suction.

Finally, I pushed on the lid from the _sides_ rather than the back or front while attaching it to the tank, and it seated a little bit differently. Suction was restored!

2. To clean out the suction area, pour some hot water on a tile floor (NOT wood) and **** it up. Repeat until everything is flowing smoothly. Sometimes, reduced or minimal suction is due to gnarly clogs. Again, though, if you're getting NO suction, the culprit is probably the dirty water bin's lid.
I hope this helps.

Hoover Agility, No Suction!!!

I had the same problem. Lower the handle to the floor and check the black spiral suction hose at the neck of the machine. The lower hose in my Hoover split. Check and see if yours has done the same thing. If so, the lower suction hose will have to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Suction

Opening that door and attaching the hose will let the suction go thru that hose. So if when you removed the hose, if that door isn't closed tight will cause you to have a suction problem It has to seal and have no leaks. The other thing when be a problem with the recovery tank not sealing when you put it back on. Other then that, any air leak will cause a suction problem.
