How is video on the dvd player hooked up? via s-video, component cables ( r,g,b), or the yellow cable? if it is the yellow cable then i beleive to be something wrong with the unit but just make sure you are plugging into the yellow input on tv. if it is the other types make sure you dont have the rgb cables mixed up. it is very easy to mix up the 3 wires. if it is the s-video cable try a different one if you can and make sure all pins are intact when you remove them. i hope this helps and good luck

The VHS tapes will not playback on the Samsung TV (flat screen)..the Samsung TV is a Syncmaster 2333 HD...the Samsung dvd/vhs unit is a DVD-V9800 The DVD discs will play just fine. How should I be...

On these combo units, the VCR will not play using component cables but the dvd's will play just fine.

What you need to do is run a pair of composite (Yellow, red and white) cables and use that for VCR and component (Green, blue, red, white and red) for the dvd player.

Make sure you switch the tv to the corresponding input.

If the DVD player is hooked up with a Component Input connection on the TV. A red, blue, and green wire for video, one of them is backwards and needs to be switched and plugged in correctly.

Try to push the cords faster in, that might be ther problem (the red yellow and white) you can try turning them or putting the converter itself faster in or change if you can. (from 1 slot to another)

I have a samsung2333hd and want to connect a dvd player using the connections marked pr(red) pb(blue) y (green) when i connect them all i get a redish pink screen then when i connect two of them i get...

OK no problem here. I can help. First reconnect the DVD Player to the tv using the Compoment cables. Match Green to Green,Red to Red and Blue to Blue.. If this is done correctly then you will have normal looking picture. If the picture looks like it is missing the RED color then switch both Red cables. The pix should look normal. Then connect the RED and White audio cables to the audio inputs . Now the Pinkish color is a result of the DVD Player not being set to the "Progressive" setting in the DVD Player Menu. It will help to connect a set of COMPOSITE cables from the DVD Player to the TV's Composite Input. Those are the Yellow,Red and White inputs on both the tv and the DVD Player. This will allow you to see the DVD player menu in case you cannot see the menu while in the Component input. The Pinkish picture should go to a Normal picture.
