Question about Nokia 6500 Slide Cellular Phone
I have bought used NOKIA 6500 from UK through Amazon ( work in Italy). After accepting my PIN No. it demands a "RESTRICTED PHONE CODE" which I do not have! Also on switching the unit off it displays a "ORANGE" logo. My sim card is "VODAFONE" I hope someone can help me as I was very much looking forward using this phone.
Regards to all, Martin
When the phone says "RESTRICTED PHONE CODE" , then the phone is not asking for a code, but it is telling you that because of phone settings you cannot dial that determined code.
That means that the phone is locked, or that a restriction on code dialling outside Italy had been setup.
To check if there is a restriction, go to phone settings menu and reset to factory settings, this will remove the restriction.
If that does not work, then the phone is locked, go to a phone shop and have it unlocked for a small fee.

This is because the last owner of the phone bougth it restricted by contract to the operator Orange.
You may try contacting Orange and maybe the can provide the unlocking code if the contract period for the last owner is finished.
There is one way you might get pass this problem:
Go to webpage: http://unlock.nokiafree.org/6500
1.Enter the phones IMEI (a kind of serialnumber). You can find it by pressing *#06# or read the white label on the phone (take out the battery). It should be about 15 digits.
2. In field named Network, choose United Kingdom - Orange
3. In field GEN, choose Recomended (and if that doesnt work use Orange UK)
4. Press Get Nokia DCT4 Unlock Codes
Please rate my solution, thank you:)

Your IMEI: 354837027713962
The mastercode can be entered instead of standard security code.
