On a newly added extension....we can page some one over the intercom, and they hear you, but when they respond...you cannot hear their voice. It is the only one of our eight desks that acts this way. We have swithed out phones, but the same happens. Do you have to program the phone?

Is the Microphone on extension A working if you are using the speakerphone. If not try using the hand set with the intercom and see if that works. Can extension A call any other extension and be heard?
You need to page an extension. To program this on a button: press feature 00 press the intercom you want to change (EX: ext 10) press the right intercom and *10 press feature 00
To use, just press the button you just programmed. It will grab intercom and dial *10. Conversly, you can press intercom *10 to do the same.
To program a page button for other extensions. At the phone, press Feature 00 press the LIGHTED button you want to program. press the LEFT intercom button, followed by * (star) and the 2 digit extension number. Repeat for more buttons. Feature 00 when done.
Now you can just press the button, and it dials intercom *10 (example)
it will activate the speakerphone and you can talk.
Press an intercom button and dial the 2 digit extension number. This will ring the extension.
To page the extension, press an intercom button and then * (Star) and the 2 digit extension number. This will page the phone.
If you want a button to see when she is on the phone, and that calls her when pressed.....First you have to find out her extension number, so just have her call your extension....it will be on the display.
Then, when you know the extension number, at your phone, find a blank button. Press Feature 00. Press the button you want to set her up on. press the LEFT intercom, star (*) and her 2 digit extension number. when finished, press feature 00 again.
1 No DSL on the line
2. Set the intercom extension of the second phone
By default, both have been assigned ext 11. The intercom uses the same frequencies as a DSL line to transmit, so that could be the noise you are hearing.
Page 23 tells you how to set the intercom extension, and the DSL warning is almost at the bottom of every page from 18-22.
Your phone can have 3 options, Ring all the time, Switch between Voice and Ring, or Voice all the time.
From your phone(s) press PROG 21 and press the ENTER soft key (3rd key). Now press the SEL (3rd key) until it says VOICE CALL then press ENTER and EXIT. If you set it to this mode, the AUTO ANS button won't work.
If you select TONE, the Auto Answe button will work, making the phone VOICE CALL when lit and ring when not.
If you select VOICE CALL DENY, the AUTO ANS button still won't work and ...you get the pattern.
you have to put all phones into a ringing group first.
From extension 10 or 11
Feature 00 Left intercom Left intercom Press #502 At the group prompt, enter the group number you wish to use (1-4) At the extension prompt, enter the extension number you wish to add to the group It will say 1-assigned or 2-not assigned Press 1 to assign it to the group Repeat for all extensions Feature 00 when finished
Now, to page the group, you will press "Intercom *7x (where x is the group number)
Example, Intercom *71 to page group 1
If you wish to put that on a button, you must go to each phone.
At each phone... Press Feature 00 Press the button you want to program Press the LEFT intercom button and *71 (for group 1) Feature 00 Repeat at each phone you want the button on.
