The shuffle setting is essentially random, which does _not_ mean that
you won't hear the same song again until all other songs play. You might
even hear the same song twice in a row, I suppose.
Are you hearing the same group of songs, and your other songs _never_ play?
If you scroll manually to a song that you haven't heard, and start play
from there, does it revert to that same group songs, or play on to
All else failing, have you tried to restore your iPod?
Have you tried changing the playback settings in your iTunes
preferences? You should be able to adjust the setting to make it _less_
likely for songs to repeat. I don't know how that would transfer to the
You might need to turn off the repeat button on ipod if it is highlighted in blue its on if it s white its off the video ( about 1 min in ) will show you were these features are you might need to play with it but it should resolve your issue.
All ipod devices track how many plays each song has. When in shuffle mode, the songs with more plays are in turned played more often. This can result in some songs playing multiple times while others are skipped;
go to your music and select a song. you should now see a picture of the album cover. tap the picture. there should be a little box sort of at the top. it will have the amount of time left of the song. on the bottom left of that box, there is a set of 2 arrows that look like they are chasing each other in a circle. tap the little arrows. all done!
when you are playing music, look at the top of the screen holding the iTouch vertically. (longer end up and down) Now look towards the upper part of the screen and you will on the right side two arrows criss crossing, this is the shuffle, and on the left side of that you will an arrow circling itself. Touch the arrow that circles itself until it's white, which means that the repeat feature is turned off. If it's blue, the repeat is on and is the cause of your issues. Let me know.
Your music playback settings need to be looked into here. Follow these steps to determine and then get rid of the problem.
1. Open a song for playing.
2. Tap on the album art or the screen.
You should see the progress bar of the song along with 3 tap icons. The one on the left is for song playback. It is either repeat off (arrows are white), repeat all (arrows are blue) and repeat 1 song (arrows are blue and '1' appears on the icon)
3. Tap once to get out of repititive listening of the same song.
Also, I am assuming that you are not listening to a playlist with 1 song in it.
When your on the now playing screen, theres a button the top left corner of the screen (looks like a circle but made of two arrows) it should be grey if its blue or blue with a #1 over it its set to repeat or repeat the same song over and over again, which is your problem.
