Sounds like a bunch of malware in your system. See if you can use your system in "safe mode" - F8 key when booting up. If you can, reboot back to normal startup and try a free malware program. Malwarebytes.org is currently one of the best.

Sony should be able to do this for you as there really isn't anything online, they can point you to a place to take it or send it or possibly they will switch yours for one that is standard in English.

you will have to call them

In English: 1-800-222-7669
Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00AM-12:00AM (Midnight) / Sat-Sun 9:00AM-8:00PM EST

Let me know if you have any problems with this, thanks

Hello...

xiii
Dew Formation
What is “dew formation”?
When cold water is poured into a glass,
dew drops form on the glass. This clinging
of water drops is called dew formation.
When dew forms in your camcorder.
Dew will gradually form on the head drum
of your camcorder and make the video
tape stick to the head. This causes
damage both to the head and the tape.
When dew forms, recording and playback
may not function properly.
Dew is likely to form in the following
circumstances:
—When moving the camcorder from a
cold place to a warm place.
—When placing the camcorder in a cold
room which is then heated rapidly.
—When moving the camcorder outdoors
from an air conditioned room or car.
—When placing the camcorder in the
direct path of air
blowing from an air
conditioner.
—When placing the
camcorder in a
humid room.
How to prevent trouble.
When using the camcorder in a place
where dew is likely to form, allow the
camcorder and the video tape to
acclimate to the surroundings for about
one hour.
For example, when bringing the
camcorder indoors after skiing, place it in
a plastic bag.
1Be sure to tightly seal the plastic bag
containing the camcorder.
2Remove the bag when the air temperature
inside it reaches the temperature
of the room.
“Dew” warning feature
If dew forms, the word “DEW” flashes on
the screen, and the power will automatically
turn off in approximately 10 seconds.
Plastic bag
1If “DEW” flashes, remove the cassette,
leave the cassette compartment open,
and wait for a few hours to allow the
camcorder to acclimate to the
surrounding temperature.
2To use the camcorder again, turn on the
power after waiting for a few hours. Be
sure that “DEW” has disappeared.
3Do not insert a cassette while “DEW” is
flashing; this may result in damage to
the tape.
4Since dew forms gradually, it may take
10 to 15 minutes before the dew
warning feature engages.

Flashing "DEW" Indicator shutting down the viewcam

I don't know if this will help, but when I leave the camera open with no tape in it for a day or so, "dew" goes away. Now I just store it open without a tape in it and have never had this problem again.

Hope this helps.

Can't access all the menus...

Some RCA camcorders feature both Automatic and Manual recording modes. Some features on these camcorders are only available in Manual mode. Check to make sure the POWER switch is set to M, and not A, then try again. If you are unsure of the recording model features of your camcorder, refer to the owner's manual or the product catalog on the website. Look on the bottom of your camcorder to locate the model number.

Should I use automatic or manual while recording?

Select RCA camcorders feature both an Automatic and a Manual recording mode. Automatic recording places the camcorder into Auto Shotâ„¢ mode. Focus, exposure, iris control, white balance, and the video light are controlled by the camcorder during Automatic recording. This mode is particularly handy for those times when you want to be able to just point the camera and record. The Manual recording mode allows you to control many of the elements above yourself, as well as many of the camcorder's special features including Animation and Time Lapse. Manual mode is also where you access the menus and set the clock. Make sure you press in the LOCK button while setting the POWER switch to the desired setting, either "A" (Automatic) or "M" (Manual) record mode.

I can't start recording.

# You may not have turned on the camcorder to record properly. For camcorders that feature both Automatic and Manual recording, make sure you press in the LOCK button while setting the POWER switch to the desired setting, either "A" (Automatic) or "M" (Manual) record mode. # Automatic recording places the camcorder into Auto Shotâ„¢ mode, while Manual recording mode allows you to control many of the camcorder's special features, including accessing the menus and setting the clock. # For many other camcorders, make sure the CAMERA/OFF/VCR switch is set to CAMERA. Make sure the Erase Protection tab is in the position that allows recording. If not, slide the tab. Some tapes have removable tabs. If the tab has been removed, simply cover the hole with adhesive tape or use another tape.
