I have a DVD that has 4 episodes of a tv show on it. I am unable to get any further than the 1st episode. There seems to be no buttons on the unit enabling me to go to the 2nd episode. Do I need a remote control to achieve this?

Is this a retail copy of a DVD? If so then is the other side of disc usuable? Sometimes the DVD manufactures will use double sided discs meaning you have to flip them over. If there is printing on the other side than it is not of this type but if both sides are shiny and look the same try to flip it over. Maybe if you have some DVD software program on your computer and can open and explore the disc in 'My Computer' and select your D drive or whichever the disc is in. You must right click and then explore. You will see a file called video ts and go into that one and you can open the files to view them in your software program such as Nero Showtime or realplayer or any other. You can go down the list and see if you can find any other episodes. I hope this helps alittle. If not return the disc for a new one maybe it was a defect from manufacture. Also i do see some of the remotes on ebay for under 5 dollars might be worth a shot to get a new remote there. Good luck with this.

Ihave made a DVD of a TV series and the menu for the episodes appears onscreen but I only seem to have the option of playing episode would I jump to a different episode?

Back in 2012, I had what I think was the same issue, an entire series, with only the 1st "starting" title. Easiest solution is to just write down the episode starting time of each one, and just enter that time to advance to that episode, or if you don't have that option, just fast forward it to the time on your sheet of paper or whatever.

My brother found me a "TRIAL" program called "ULTRA VIDEO SPLITTER" really cool which easily does what you want to do, that is divide your 4 or 6 hour, or whatever it is, enter menu titles, the works. The one I had was "ULTRA VIDEO SPLITTER 6.3.0206" from "AONE" Software. I do not know if it is still available. If not maybe one of it's cousins is!. Good Luck! (Man I said "whatever" too much! Oh well, whatever)

Lost remote ,how toplay episodes on dvd

Unless it has manual buttons for this you need to locate an original remote--do not waste money on a "universal".

Ok heres problem all my boxset dvds are only playing one and two episodes the disks and this is all my boxsets and alot of movies are only playing midway then disks stops i cannot figure this out only...

If the sled motor [the motor that spind the disc inside] has fault, this kind of trouble you describes here can occur. The second possiblility is with its Laser Pickup Unit. In both cases, a through check should be done, before replace the fault component.

Lost DVD player remote and cannot access second episode on DVD

Most DVD players have buttons to control the DVD on the player itself. If it does not, your only option is to get a universal remote and program it for your DVD player.

I lost the remote. How can I navigate without it? When I put in a DVD I can play the first episode, but when that one is over I can't navigate back to the main menu to play the next episode. Do I have to...

In short, you will have to consider purchasing a replacement remote control. If the original is not available, a universal remote may do the job. Universals are obtainable practically anywhere and can be preset to recognise the device of virtually any brand; in your case, the DVD player. Most functions will work with such remotes, but not all can be guaranteed. I hope this helps a bit - and the (universal) remote won't cost an arm and a leg to buy either.

Lost remote - can't navigate between episodes on DVD

You do need the original remote however, you can use your TV remote or your cable/SAT remote. They usually have DVD button on them. You just need to read the manual on how to program these remotes to worl with your DVD player. If all else fails, Radio Shack or CVS has universal remotes for about $10 ~ $20.

Any button pushed on my remote control causes ''SET 1'' on display.

Hi, All you need to do is point the remote at your DVD player and hold both the number "1" and "enter" keys down for about 10 seconds. Evidently that re-sets the remote. It worked for me so good luck.

After recording a one hour episode, won't recognize the dvd.

Try inserting your DVD media into the PC and doing a 'quick format'. The LG is not seeing what it considers to be media that it can use. It is not seeing that you have inserted recordable media. Sometimes you can reformat the DVD or do a quick media erase, and the LG can then put on its blank "squares" that is uses for its menu selection. I think that it what it does when it 'initializes' a new media.
