Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

1 Answer

I don't have my audio device on my laptop.

I usually update my HP computer on a daily basis. I have it setup to check for updates. This last update I did, it some how deleted my "audio device" from my laptop. How can I get it back on my laptop? I was looking for a free dowloadable program.

Select your OS, download the audio drivers, install them and your audio will work perfect again. Its the HP:s supporter site for you laptopmodel so if you need any other drivers its just to download them, why not download them all and store the just in case you need any of them someday.

I need a conexant audio update

You can click update driver from the device manager. If that don't work click Start/My Computer and look at the folders on your C: Local Drive. A lot of times you might see a folder called SWWetup (Software Setup), look in it and see if the audio driver and application software is in it, if so reinstall it by opening it and clicking on setup. Also you can look for a folder called HP or Hewlett Packardand most times under HP or Hewlett Packard there will be a Driver folder. Look in the driver folder and see if you can see the Audio and run it's setup. If all fails go to google and type "hp support" and look for drivers and downloads. Go the hp's site, key in your model number when asked and the operating system and download and install the audio driver.

Hi i've just upgraded my Compaq nx6110 to Windows 7 from Windows XP and my audio isn't working. I've tried installing all the codecs and drivers i could find for my multimedia audio controller...

Depends on the usage you give it. If you don't use very heavy and CPU dependent programs and don't want to spend your money you should downgrade back to XP.
But if you feel like you need more power for the software you use and can spare a few bucks you should definitely invest in a new PC. That PC is quite old and will start limiting you a lot if you need it on a regular basis.

I can not use my built in HP dv6-2005ev laptop webcam

First check if ur builtin webcam is enabled in the BIOS . This is easily checked by turning on your computer and following the screen to enter BIos setup . Its usually a simple press of F2 key before the operating system screen pops up .
Second while the operating system pops up , check in the device manager if the webcam is properly installed . This is easy for windows system where you just go into Control Panel , then System Properties , then Advanced Properties , down to device manager .
Third , simply do a test on Windows Update , Maybe there is a driver conflict or a new webcam driver present and you simply download the updates for your computer

I have bought my hp compaq 610 laptop one months ago but my laptop speaker is not working but with headphone it is working what should i do?

Do you hear any sound? If it is faint, try stopping and restarting the audio services. (for Windows Vista and 7) Click the Start button and type Run, click on Run. (alt press and hold the Windows key and then type r)
Type services.msc in the window. Then scroll through the list and select and click Stop for all audio services. Then repeat this but click Start for each one. Click Apply and then OK.

If you do not hear any sound, open the device manager and see if there is an exclamation point or an x (usually in a triangle) at the audio device lines. Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound. Right click on the line and choose Properties and try updating the driver. Check Windows Update and HP Update for any available driver.

I hope this helps.

(if these don't work, the wire from the motherboard to the speakers may be damaged/disconnected in the laptop case.)

1.From Device Manager

(1).Click Start, type Device Manager in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
(2).In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
(3). Right-click the device, and click Scan for hardware changes.
You should see a message that a hardware device is being installed. Additionally, the uninstalled audio device is now present in Device Manager.
(4).Close the Device Manager dialog box, and then determine whether you can hear sound.

2.From the motherboard or installation CD - If your computer came with a motherboard CD, the audio drivers should be on the disk.

3. From manufacturer's website - If you don’t have the CD go to your computer manufactures web page to search for updated sound driver software. Read the instructions on the download pages carefully before installing.

4. Microsoft's Windows Update feature : If there are no updated sound drivers available, use Microsoft's Windows Update feature. Connect to the Internet and try the following items until Windows Update opens:

(1).Click Start, and then click Windows Update (if it is listed).
(2).Click Start, click Settings, and then click Windows Update (if it is listed).
(3).Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update (if it is listed).
(4).Go to Microsoft's Web site and click Windows Update from the Downloads menu.

It will not shut down. instead it re-starts

You may have the laptop setup so that when it recieves the command to shut down, it simply restarts. If you're unable to resolve this, you can try telling it to hibernate, it's essentially the same, only it starts up quicker, and doesn't really use any battery power. It can be harmful to your RAM, if done excessively.
