When the computer is on the lights are on. A second later the lights are off and the computer is off. A second later the computer and lights are on. It keeps repeating that pattern.

Try removing the 512 MB memory to see if it does work with the 1GB stick only.

It's not the power supply that does have a problem. It has something with your memory stick.

Hewlett Packard Pavilion Tower Button Flashes for a second but will not power on the tower. The green light in back is on and power source is fine. How can I fix this?

Sounds like the power supply is bad. That's the one inside the tower.

You could try blowing dust out of it,  reseating the connectors. But I have a feeling it needs replacing.

Go here for detailed instructions from HP..

Screen will not come on hard drive light no light checked power supply is ok

Things to check:
  1. Power led on the front of the tower, it should be solid green when on. Flashing Amber is generally an indication of a bad power supply inside the tower
  2. Power LED Solid AMBER indicates system is not finishing the power on self test (POST) and you remove all connections from the tower except power and try turning on again. If no change, remove all PCI and PCI-E cards from system, try again, no change replace motherboard.
  3. On the back of the tower are 4 diagnostic LEDs near the ps2 ports marked ABCD, after the POST, during a normal boot the will flash in several sequences and with boot is finished all 4 should be green. If they stop an a different pattern, then that indicates a failure Yellow Yellow Green Green indicate bad RAM for example
  4. If the LEDs on front and back are Green then the system appears to be booting but the monitor display is not functional

Flashing Green light on back and tower won't come on.

Yes, you should try replacing the power supply first. If that doesn't work, then it could be a bad motherboard.

Green light blinking on back of my system unit but there is no power

I had this problem and i tried everything to make it work. Now all i do is put a hairdryer at the back whilst the computer is plugged in until the light stops flashing then switch on as normal. I also noticed that when the air is warm i do not have to use the hairdryer hopes this helps.

My pc light flashes green

need to know the model # and type of computer? Remove all external devices except mouse, keyboard and monitor. If not getting any power at all, could be your power supply.

Tower will not turn on .

My first guess is to replace the power supply. These are fairly cheap and easy to replace. Unplug your computer. Just open the side of the computer (often the left facing you). The power supply is on the top which is plugged in. Remove the plug and locate 2 - 4 screws that hold it in place. Disconnect the main from the motherboard (remember where this goes for later). Install the new one and reconnect power. This is the most likely reason. If that fails, the motherboard may be dead. The green light flashing indicates that the internet is ready but has no power.
