Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
Well i had a problem like that where you could hear it booting up but the screen was completely black, what i did was unplug my computer and let it sit for a day and let the battery die and then i turned it on and it worked fine after that. i dont know if that is going to work for you but its worth a try

Try pressing the function or fn keydown and hold it down then press the the f key that turns off and on the display.Do the key that came off feel the same as the other keys when you push them.it could be that the keyboard is damaged and some keys may not be working as in the monitor key.
