Re: Model ED20PK does it have a water filter and where?
Yes it can. Water filters will allow less and less water to pass through as time goes on. For that reason, resturants install pressure gauges before and after the filters to moniter water flow. If there is no water then the ice maker cannot make ice. Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.

Here is a check list to use to verify ice maker is good or bad or if something else is causing the problem. 1) Has the water filter been changed recently, or does it need to be changed? The filter being old can cause a reduction on water and lower performance of anything else that requires water. 2) Check the temperature in the freezer. Even though things are frozen in there, the ice maker requires that the temperature be at least 10 degrees F to even cycle. Ideal would be around the 0 degree mark. 3) Check the fill tube where water comes into the ice maker. From time to time this will get blocked due to water freezing in the tube itself. ********* If the first three checks all pass, either the water valve is bad and not allowing water to come to the ice maker, or the ice maker itself is not calling for water ********** Depending on the age of the machine it might not be a bad idea to change the water valve and the ice maker together.
if it keeps filling and overflowing you have a bad water valve on the back of the fridge.the part number is WR57X10027 and the valve is around 75 dollars.first thing lift the arm or shut off the ice maker so it won't leak anymore, you're missing a few letters off of the model number so when you call your parts store give them the full model number, open the fridge door, look up on the right hand side wall up near the ceiling and give them the model number to make sure you get the correct valve, shut off the water supply to the fridge, then have the new valve next to the old valve when you remove a water line from the old valve just connect it to the new valve,do this until everything is changed out and the new valve is in place, turn on the water supply and you can check the ice maker to make sure it doesn't overflow.you can manually start the ice maker by grabbing the plastic arms of the ice maker and pull them forwards slowly until the arms start to advance on their own, you'll hear the water valve fill the ice maker and then you can watch it fill to see if the water is filling it correctly and i'm sure you'll be fine with the new water valve installed
Hi, The main reason behind an icemaker to make ice slow is the freezer temperature. It needs to be below 10 degrees. Also check the water inlet valve. Water is controlled by a timer and if its obstructed or slow filling, it will not make ice. You could also have a bad motor, defrost heater, or sensor. If these items fail, it usually won't make any ice. Check to be sure the electric plug from the ice maker is plugged in and check the water flow. However if it is filling up with water or if it just has a small amount in the cube maker. If it's making some ice, it's probably not a defrost problem. Check the voltage to the fill valve. Also replace the freezer's water filter, as clogged filters block water flow. Set the ice maker arm to "Off," and then twist the hanging filter cup counterclockwise to remove it. Rinse the cup under running water and discard the old filter cartridge inside. Slide a new filter cartridge into the cup and reinstall the cup assembly in the freezer.

No model # to reference. Althou alot of issues might cause problems, some are really mondain. (e.g. is the valve on, has any plumbing work been done recently, if inline filter how old is it). Checking fill valve, access valve area, remove from bracket remove tubing and wire connectors from valve. Use jumper cord and power each valve solenoid put valve output ends in glass to test. If valve sends water from each valve if OK keep looking. If refer has internal filter, hook all back up to test. would need model # to give more help.
You said, The ice maker in my whirlpool gold refrigerator Model No, GR2FHTXTBOO, is not working.
How old is the fridge? When have you last changed the water filter. Should be down below at the front grille! Try these tasks!
If the ice maker is not producing ice or not enough ice Refrigerator connected to a water supply and the supply shutoff valve turned on? Connect refrigerator to water supply and turn water shutoff valve fully open. • Kink in the water source line? A kink in the line can reduce water flow. Straighten the water source line. • Ice maker turned on? Make sure wire shutoff arm or switch (depending on model) is in the ON position. • New installation? Wait 24 hours after ice maker installation for ice production to begin. Wait 72 hours for full ice production. • Freezer door closed completely? Firmly close the freezer compartment door. If the freezer compartment door will not close all the way, see "The doors will not close completely." • Large amount of ice recently removed? Allow 24 hours for ice maker to produce more ice. • Ice cube jammed in the ice maker ejector arm? Remove ice from the ejector arm with a plastic utensil. • Water filter installed on the refrigerator? Remove filter and operate ice maker. If ice volume improves, then the filter may be clogged or incorrectly installed. Replace filter or reinstall it correctly. • Reverse osmosis water filtration system connected to your cold water supply? This can decrease water pressure.
