Memory upgrade I currently have 512 mb of memory and looking to upgrade the pm2mp board state can be upgraded to 2 gb. I started looking for memory on ebay, I looked for pc2100 or ddr266 is this correct? I also came across a lot of memory that states it is server memory can this be used? Basicaly Im looking for some suggestions on what would be a suitable memory upgrade as far as ecc/nonecc, buffered/unbuffered, registered/non registered, high density/low density what am I to look for to be as compatible with this motherboard? Thank you in advance for your time and assistance, Jeffrey

Hi Jeffrey!

Yepp, you can upgrade it to 2GB memory, those DDR266 PC2100 you fund on ebay is perfect for your board.
Your boad also supports DDR200 as long as they are 184pin sticks. Thogh the DDR200 memory is a slower stick then the DDR266.
So if you fins 2 sticks each 1GB go for it. Your pc will be fast as a jetplane (at least af fast as it possible to get it).

Here is all the info i found about you Mobo:

Good luck to you

According to the pm2mp manual you have two memory slots. Each slot can hold a max of 1GB DDR266 or DDR200 184-pin DIMMS. So when you are shopping for memory just ask for or Google DDR266 DIMMS. This is what matches your CPU 478 Socket so it is important to get that exact type of memory or you will have all kinds of wierd problems that will be hard to troubleshoot. Good Luck.

Hi there.
The best memory for that motherboard is DDR SDRAM, the supported ram speed is 266 MHz • 200 MHz(maximum 2BG, 1BG in each slot)
Kingston or corsair memory running at 266MHz is my recommendation to you. Try not to buy used memory as it may not work!!

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

You can update the graphic, by adding a better graphic card, on the mainboard.
The ram can be upgraded to 2 gb ddr2 ram.
A bigger harddrive, can be added, for more space.
The cpu will be hard to find, it probably have socket 775, but this cpu is not available anymore.
And not all cpu`s will fit the mainboard.

Good luck

I have a 512 mb 667mhz sdram on D102Ggc2 board.now i decided to up grade memory. Can i upgrade system memory without lose this 512 mb.

Hi,
Yes you can. but make sure that you buy the exact same type of RAM stick that you have and put it in the other RAM slot so the Dual Channel feature will be active (dual channel makes data transmission/processing faster) and making your systems memory 1GB. However, your motherboard can utilize or handle up to 2GB or RAM so you can put also a 1GB RAM stick which will make your systems memory a total of 1.5GB (that will be the case if you really dont want to lose the 512MB that you currently have,
Hope this helps.

I have compaq presario 5000 series...and iwant upgrade my ram ...i have 128+128 sd ram so how much i upgrade my ram...can i upgrade 512+512 sd ram OR 256+256 sd ram...thank you

the RAM upgrade will depend on ur motherboard capacity and specification.
u need to check ur MB manual
if ur MB can have only SD RAM then only SD RAM upgrade is possible...DDR will not work....
so be careful while buying ur RAM

intelD845GLLy MB...the following details are from the intel website

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845glly/sb/CS-012825.htm

System Memory Features
The D845GLLY board provide the following memory features:
  • Two DIMM sockets supporting 3.3 V (only) 168-pin 133 MHz Single Data Rate (SDR) SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
  • Unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs only
  • Maximum total system memory: 2 GB; minimum total system memory: 64 MB
  • Serial Presence Detect (SPD) DIMMs only
  • Suspend to RAM
Caution Do not use ECC DIMMs with the Desktop Board. Using ECC DIMMs could damage the Desktop Board.
Integrator's Notes:
  • Registered DIMMs are not supported on the Desktop Board.
  • This Desktop Board has been designed to support DIMMs based on 512 Mbit technology for a maximum onboard capacity of up to 2 GB, but this technology has not been validated on this board.

Note To be fully compliant with all applicable PCI33 SDRAM memory specifications, the board should be populated with DIMMs that support the Serial Presence Detect (SPD) data structure. This allows the BIOS to read the SPD data and program the chipset to accurately configure memory settings for optimum performance.
hope this helps

I want to upgrade my HP BA 600 Mother Board`s RAM Capacity

    Hello,
Most likely your MB is too old for this upgrade although there is a chance you could flash your bios (reprogram your computer's brain to accept the new memory providing hp has a flash for it).
here is a link for the latest bios flash for your computer, use at your own risk.
