removed lid and found component burnt out not sure what this component is, but it is located inside dryer on front panel next to timer switch i think and the wires coming off are connected to motor. this component starts to smoke as soon as you switch dryer on. please can you advise on what this component is and is there a chance that this part is the sole problem

- mate - are you sure it is the relay - doesnt look the same in the pictures - i've tried searching, and the relays don't match what i have? its has the nunber 7040204301 on it, and says 230 v and 50hz, also cr5 702 43.02please help

Hi, the part is called relay. If its smokey, is short-circuiting. Find the info at the back of your HP drier, and get the part replaced.
