Question about Audiovox MMDV70CB Car DVD Player

Movies2go MMDV70C dvd player doesn't work

We just purchased a used Ford Windstar with the above dvd player. How does it work? Does it require a remote? Is there a switch somewhere other than on the player itself that must be turned on? Where can I locate a manual? A remote? The power switch is iffy. Is there more than one function that is powered up by this button? There appears to be a light of some sort in the center of the dvd that does not light. Is this in fact a light and what does this indicate? Thank you.

The dvd is not loading and will not play. the cds are working fine.

Hi,

how long have you been using this player? I suspect the laser (lens) of the player. I think the laser (lens) is weak that's why it cannot read data/files on DVD discs.

To confirm if actually its a laser problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or a mechanism problem.

Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.

If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.

To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.

Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.

Regards.

Advent DVD player in vehicle - can't get sound through speakers

I just solved this problem on my Ford Edge 2010. Start the dvd. Hit the FM button on the remote. It will pop up an FM radio frequency in the top left corner of the screen. For example, ours is 88.7. Tune the car radio to that frequency and the sound should come through the speakers. Hope it works for you.

Car DVD player will only play sound through wireless headphones, not through speakers

We have a GMC Envoy which also does not allow us to play the sound from the dvd player through the car's speakers. Although we purchased the vehicle new with the dvd player already installed, it was installed by the dealer, making it after-market. I assume those that were installed in the factory work differently. Maybe this is the case with your's as well. Good luck!!

Same problem of not showing picture

Hi,

It would seem that there is no major problem since as you posted "...working properly but dvd picture...", it then would be a matter of wiring it correctly.

Most mobile video DVD players have an e-break wire which is required to be wired to the hand brake of the vehicle. The unit will only play DVDs if the handbrake is on, therefore the vehicle must not be in motion and it is parked. This is a safety precaution so as to prevent drivers from driving and watching simultaneously.

There is of course a way to bypass this requirement. The e-brake must then be tricked into thinking that the handbrake is on for the DVD to play.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

How do you connect a pioneer d2 navigation system to a 2006 ford expedition entertainment system

You need to identify the four wires that carry the DVD audio in the factory plug, and re-wire them to RCA plugs that can be used with the Auxiliary input RCA jacks on your Pioneer unit. The four wires should be: Left (+) light green Left (-) white Right (+) red Right (-) black The easiest way is to purchase some inexpensive RCA cables (or better yet, speaker wire with RCA ends). Cut the cables and wire the center pin conductor wires to the (+) audio wires in the stock plugs, and connect the outer shield conductors to the (-) wires. Then connect the RCA plugs to your head unit's auxiliary input jacks.

SOUND NOT GETTING ANY

it may seem obvios but take the dvd player out of the dashboard and check all connections.if this fails you may have to take it to a audio specialist to check if the internal amplifier of the unit is functioning correctly.
