On the Dynex? - RF Modulator AV Signal Converter, the RCA plugs on the back, are they input or output?

Input. The intent is to convert Composite Video, S-video and audio from newer devices to old TV's that only have RF (antenna) inputs.

1998 RCA TV Model F27242GY How do I connect a VCR/DVD player to this TV? Do I need to use a RF modulator or converter?

If this particular model does not have your typical RCA jacks in the front or back, Yes you will have to purchase an RF converter box. This is a common problem for the older conventional TV. Visit your local electronic store. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

I have an analog tv (coax cable) and a new dvd (av plugs) player. How do I inexpensively connect them? i saw the solution posted about the rf modulator. I have a digital to analog tv convertor. Is this...

NO. An RF modulator and your digital-to-analog (DAC) TV converter are 2 different devices. The DAC will convert over-the-air (OTA) digital television signals from your antenna to analog NTSC format so your older analog TV can receive OTA broadcasts. The RF modulator converts base-band video (composite cable/RCA connector, or S-Video cable connector) to channel 3 or 4, so you can watch video/audio on your set. To use both the RF mod. and the DAC converter to the same TV, use an A/B switch for F-connector coax, or follow the directions for the RF modulator to make the correct connections.

I have an older TV with only an antenna hook-up, a VCR, a DVD recorder and a converter box that I would like to hook all together. I can get the VCR to work, but don't really know how to hook the DVD...

Try this. You will need 2 RF cables and a RCA cable that has a red, black, and yellow plug on each end.
  1. Plug the antenna signal into the converter box.
  2. Connect the RF output (TV out) of the converter box to the RF input on the VCR
  3. Connect the RF output (TV out) on the VCR to the TV
  4. Finally, plug the DVD recorder into the converter box also, but use the 3 RCA cables that came with it (audio left, right and video).

We just got a model 25TR15 C122 from my sister. Can we add a DVD player? We only see one plug for the cable and do not know how to hook it up.

What you need is called an RF converter (available at most electronic stores or Wal-Mart for around $20.00). The RF convertor works so that you can watch your DVD on your TV through Channel 3. The DVD hooks to your RF converter by RCA jacks (yellow, red and White) and the cable that goes to your tv now is hooked into the RF converter and another cable is than hooked out from the RF converter to your TV. Set the TV on Channel 3 (or 4) and the dvd will automatically play through

Can not make the instalation betwen my tv and my dvd player

Most DVD players today have only RCA jacks for video and audio outputs, and don't have RF (channel 3 or 4) outputs. If your TV doesn't have AV input jacks (either too old or just not supplied on your model) you can't connect the DVD player directly. You'll need to get an RF converter to make the connection.

An RF converter costs about $15 and you'll find them where you can buy TVs. The converter takes the video and audio signals from the DVD player and creates a channel 3 or 4 output signal to your TV. If you don't have the cables already, make sure to get them too. You need a "dubbing cable" (RCA plugs on the ends, usually color-coded red, white and yellow) to connect the DVD player to the converter input jacks and an RF cable with "F connectors" on the ends for the output to the TV. Often the dubbing cable comes with a new DVD player, and the RF cable with the RF converter.

If this takes care of your connection troubles, please take a moment to give my solution a good rating. If I've missed something and can be of more help, please post a followup comment.
