These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience.
the error light sequence that you are seeing is indicating a "backlight error". Most likely you have a bad inverter board -the board that powers up the back-lights behind the display panel. They might be available via ebay if you are a DIYer, or you need to call for sony service.
Hello. You could have problem with power supply or sustain board. If problem was developing slowly ( it was taking longer for TV to turn on, sometimes several attempts pushing power button on remote or set) than it is most definitely Power Supply problem that involved bad capacitors. If problem happened suddenly - it could be either or both boards involved. I would recommend professional to diagnose it. If your TV is smaller than 40" - just forget about it and invest in new one. Repair will not be cost-effective. Regards. Russ.
Now,u plug in the tv u get a solid red standby power red LED light in the front of the LCD panel right? When u push the power button on the remote u hear a clicking sound?Only one clicking sound, not the power supply board problems. It the Tuner board problems. But u can make sure it the power board problems or not.By taking the tv aparts check the power board, that board where the a/c power cord goes into it.Look all around the power supply board check for these leakage capacitors, they alway bulges up it top or puff up it top.No bad leakage capacitors, then it not the power supply board problems.
I always found the problem to be either a combo of the x-sus printed circuit board and the y-sus printed circuit board. It is also very worth checking out your poer supply circuitry as well. Good Luck.
In about 90% the power supply failed if the TV is not turning ON, needs to be unplug to make it work or it produces a buzzing noise through the speakers.
I repair these power supplies, if you need further assistance write to email@example.com
